Posters: Monty Python names vs. MST3K names.

“Owlstretchingtime” (not sure if this doper still posts) was the original name for Monty Python’s Flying Circus.

PSST Look at the seventh poster down in this thread:)

Just so…

I am currently summarising Proust.

Hey, I’m here, just had to finish one Last Sacrifice.

Of course thats Final Sacrifice, I’m still asleep.

I always wondered what MST3K stood for…

Come on, one more sacrifice, please??

Oh, OK, but this is the Final Sacrifice!

Alright I give in. What is this Mystery Science Theatre thing then? (It never got to England).

MST3k was a show that featured Joel and his two robots, stuck
in space and forced to watch REALLY bad films…
The hillarity ensued when the boys, while watching the films would sit and make rude comments about the action going on.
That’s the basic premise, but I’m sure others can give you better details.

The Doctor is on. The Doctor is Happy.

I LOVEMP and I only like MST3K, and I’m not named for either. Just putting in my two cents and not like you care but oh well, I’m stating it anyway for the record, so ha!!!
“Naughty, bad, evil Zoot!”

There used to be a Tim the Enchanter on here.

I didn’t know that – and I’ve seen the movie.

Interesting. I wouldn’t recognize Douglas Adams references, so I can’t count the names related to him. I might have thought HeartOfGold was a Neil Young reference.

Well, as they said at the end of “Skydivers,” Nuveena, feel free to warp on in here any time.

Yes, but he hadn’t checking in yet when you posted.

Well, I always wondered how eels got into a hoverboat in the middle of the El Paso desert.

Rowsdower saves us, and saves all the woooooorld.

As DrMemory noted, it was a series in which characters – who were supposedly trapped in a mad scientist’s experiment – were forced to watch bad movies, so they provided a running commentary on them.

Several episodes are available on VHS and DVD. If you’re curious, I’d recommend the perennial favorite, “Manos, The Hands of Fate,” from which Torgo takes his name.

“So, where do we start?”

“At goofy clown face.”

Heh…great movie.

I’m a huge fan of both. However, my name came from a coffee shop…so…ummmm…
