Thanks for liking my name, Flamsterette. I’m quite proud of it myself. Still not sure how you’ve seen it since you don’t read my words of wisdom in the various Enterprise threads though.

I’ve seen it here and there around these forums, and thought it looked interesting. Any story behind it?

Aesir’s the collective name of the Norse gods and I always thought it looked cool. Others obviously feel the same way since “Aesir” has always been taken whenever I’ve tried to register it. I added the “-on” so I could keep it.

So this is an innocuous, mundane and pointless thread tomndebb? (Nice use of the parenthetical aside by the way.) You know, we should have a whole forum where we could just dump those “mundane and pointless” threads so they stay out of serious posters’ way. Just let them putter off on their own to live their own life and then die in the fullness of time and not irritate the more… sensitive among us. It’s something to think about.

Just checking (pretty late I know, but the quest for knowlege owns no Mickey Mouse wristwatch) (which is a shame) but this is all about the “posters who don’t irritate [us]”. So it’s not really who we like the bestest ever. Or the ones who come next, the posters we really like. Or the ones who we make sure we read when we see them if it’s convenient. This thread is for those posters we rate right above “apathy” isn’t it?

I thought THAT was some untrammelled ground for a thread and I say “Kudos!” to Exgineer for starting this love-fest train-wreck!

I’m just curious whether Casey1505 actually thought someone would bother to Pit him over something said in a truly mundane, pointless thread.

Either way, for the record, he doesn’t irritate me either. Usually.

I never thought of this is a popularity thread. I’d like to think I am well-liked, but I know for a fact I irritate the shit out of some people. I was damn surprised to find my name mentioned.

I think we’re actually pretty lucky that he proactively pitted himself there welby, because I sincerly doubt it would have happened otherwise. After all, there’s nothing the Pit moderators like more than closing threads after 5 whole posts.

Thanks for the story, Aesiron. Thought the “Aesir” part looked kinda vaguely familiar, but couldn’t quite place from where. Now it all makes sense and comes together. (unlike my brain, which is not quite together at this current moment)
