I don’t know, but I think they should be. Invasion of the Capitol? Just tourist visits. Burned driverless cars in LA? Just careless smoking.
Naw, let’s get real here. The January 6 rioters fully intended to overthrow the US Government and install their guy who lost the election; and the protestors in LA fully intended to torch those cars. Really though, sauce for the goose and all that. You cannot state that there were innocent and peaceful tourists in the US Capitol on January 6, while at the same time, stating that there were dangerous rioters who torched cars in LA on June 7. Never mind, MAGA will find a way to do so anyway.
Regardless, I agree with @wolfpup when he suggested that the end goal of all this is a civil war; American against American. Divide and conquer; the dictator’s playbook. And when the MAGA faithful triumph, which they undoubtedly will over those evil DEI and LGBTQ+ illegals and leftists and intellectuals, it’ll be a wonderful new world.

Agree on Newsom. Being arrested would restore his credibility with progressives, lost in recent months, without him having to pivot one iota to the left.
This may be a failure of imagination on my part, but I do not see how arresting Karen Bass would be a fail of enormous, or any others, proportions.
Arrests of Newsom and Bass would be closely analogous to what we see in Turkey. No fail there yet.
Any rational person knows what the J6 insurrection was. But check your local tv station’s FB page or the letters to the editor of your local paper. When someone brings up J6, the MAGAssholes will invariably declare “DJT offered to send in the NG to protect the Capitol, but Nancy Pelosi turned it down”. Never mind that the DC NG answers to the president alone. Never mind that the leader of one party in one house of Congress is not responsible for security of the building. They believe what the Dear Leader says- full stop.
We are not yet to the point of gas chambers. Yet being the operative word. The time to resist is before that step is taken. Does anyone doubt that the red hats would dearly love to see every undocumented immigrant murdered?

Definitely rioters intended to burn those cars. But there is no evidence that protestors intended to burn those cars. Again, the protestors are not the rioters. In many cases, the rioters are the very people that the protestors are protesting against.
I doubt that. After all, some undocumented immigrants are white. They’ve never cared about legal status of immigrants.
It also needs to be mentioned that most concentration camps were founded as prison/work camps, not extermination camps, and the extermination camps were outside Germany because there was less legal friction expected. Not that Hitler couldn’t have strong-armed camps inside Germany if he chose, but even a weak judiciary can still present some challenge and delay that could be entirely avoided by doing it outside Germany.
That’s one among many reasons why Trump is shipping people to El Salvador, and why legal resistance still matters even though the judiciary has much fewer teeth than we wish. Legal challenges matter, keeping people in-country matters, demonstrating opposition matters even when the ideal course of protest isn’t clear and appears to be making things worse.
There’s not enough ICE to accomplish this. Yes there are some bloodthirsty bigots in ICE, but they didn’t sign up to take on any real risk or do any real labor. If everyone chooses to make life hard and miserable for them, then ICE will have a hard time retaining people.
The red hat crowd is truly evil. The only difference between them and 1930s Nazis is 90 years and more efficient means to spread their propaganda. They have a champion that hates the same people that they do, a political party with no morals, and a Supreme Court willfully complicit.
I expect many of those homeless, especially the mentally ill ones who have issues with interpersonal exchanges, aren’t going to be merely shuffled along but rather arrested, sent to “detention facilities”, assumed to be illegal immigrants (because it’s convenient for the Current Administration), and shipped off to places like that jail in El Salvador without opportunity to provide documents proving citizenship or indeed getting any sort of exercise of civil rights.
But do keep laughing if you find that notion amusing.

OK, most of them might not actively want such murders… but I am pretty sure most of them would be indifferent to them. As long as it doesn’t affect them they don’t give a damn what happens to people that are different than them.
Or maybe the MAGA’s in your neighborhood are different than the ones in mine.
However, it doesn’t take all of them, or even a majority of them, to plunge the US into chaos or impose authoritarianism. Hitler never won the popular vote, it’s not necessary.
I don’t think that end is inevitable but I think it is, at this point, a very real possibility.
