Powerpoint 07 - Adding A Slide w/o Messing up In-document Links

I have several powerpoint presentations that are set up as “jeopardy games” where the first slide is a game board with links to other slides in the presentation. For example, if you click on a 500 question link, it takes you to slide 17, etc. There are 25 links on the board slide per presentation.

However, the Powers That Be want me to add a title slide to the original presentations. Doing so completely messes up the in-document linking scheme (for instance, where it points to slide 17 it is now technically pointing to slide 16) and it would take a lot of time to individually fix on my part.

Is there anyway to add a title slide so it does not count as a numbered slide or to add it and automatically shift the other links? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I don’t have access to PowerPoint 07 but for PowerPoint 03, the online help says:

Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot! One day I shall be more adept at searching the help files… :smack: until then, I’m glad I’ve got you guys!

I haven’t used PowerPoint 2007 very much, but in 2003, my experience has been that if you use Action Settings —> Hyper link to—>Slide… (choose your slide from the list), then adding slides in any location usually* won’t affect the existing links.

*I say “usually”, because with Office apps you’ll get all kinds of surprises. I’ve seen perfectly good links suddenly go bad.
