PowerPoint links - possible to update when slide show is running?

I’m setting up a video scorecard for a quiz on Friday evening and at the moment, I thought I’d do it like this:

An excel spreadsheet into which the team names and scores per round are entered, various calculations of total and joker rounds are performed, then the results are copied into a different worksheet that is formatted to look nice.
This is paste linked into a Powerpoint slide.
The computer has two video cards, so the slide show can be put on the one connected to the video projector, while the other screen allows the spreadsheet to be manipulated.

But the paste link, even when set to auto, only updates when the presentation is in design mode; when the slide show is running, it remains static, showing the information as at when the show was launched.

Does anyone know of a way around this?

Found it! - this add-in updates links when pages are turned in a looped show.

It can be done programmatically, although IIRC one of the MVPs wrote an add-in that will do it. I’ll look around for the Add-In, but if I can’t find it I’ll write an add-in that will do it for you and send it to you in mail.
