Pregnant or PMS?

I think that she has. It’s been awhile so my memory is kind of fuzzy on this, but it seems like the doctor uses a smaller than usual whatever it is that they open it up with down there because of this. Not sure if the doctor suggested any kind of treatment or anything regarding this issue. If he has, nothing was mentioned to me.

I had a pregnancy scare last year because my period was almost two weeks late. My cycle is normally 30 - 35 days long (and a little irregular), and by day 39 I was freaking out and went through four or five drug store testers.

Of course, my period showed up on day 45, less than 24 hours after a doctor’s blood test confirmed I was entirely not pregnant.

Extreme stress can throw all the body’s hormones outta whack, and periods can stop. That itself adds more stress, and you can see the problems here.

When a period is skipped or late because of this stress business, it can make the woman sicker than Hell.

The “size smaller” business absolutely needs to be checked out. Now THAT could be psychological (because of the previous pregnancy scare) or it could be something serious, like fibroid tumors in the uterus. She needs to be checked, and she needs to get a definitive answer to that SPECIFIC question.

The similarity between PMS and pregnancy symptoms in many women is truly one of nature’s cruelest tricks.

I agree with the size smaller thing. Ask her to get it checked. It will make everyone happier. She might not realize how much it affects her until it’s checked.

Another thing that can throw off the cycle (and this may or may not apply) is the amount of sex you guys have. I was having tons of sex, whether it be self-pleasuring or with someone else, around my periods. I ended up not having my period for months. Since I hardly have them when not on the pill I wasn’t worried. What did worry me was I was having classic pregnancy issues: nausea, headaches, fatigue, backache, swollen tender breasts, swollen tender nips, weight gain…you name it, I got it. I went to the doc and he said (after a preg test) that a lot of sex can make your body think it’s pregnant. It made me feel a little better but doesn’t help that my boobs hurt like hell and were bigger than the normal bigness. Ugh.
