Prejudices, stereotypes, and dreams – a far-too-serious MMP

Now it is!!!

Pizza good! Beer good! Bear full!

That is all

Another shitty day, Pie?

Here’s a trout-smack upside the head, Bobbio. HORRRRRRIBLE pun.

Apparently, our pension plan believes I should start planning my retirement. I got a planning brochure in the mail today (“5 years and counting” is the clever title.) In real life it’s a bit more, but still…

Did I tell you that B of A actually: a) took the private mortgage insurance off my mortgage because I passed whatever magic threshold they decided on?, and b) sent me a check for the overage in my escrow account? Which makes me wonder why FCM and I had completely different experiences with the same bank. My guess is that the have multiple sub-areas that deal with mortgages and the areas are inconsistent.

There was more that I’m forgetting… I’ll catch up later.

Hugs.

GT

My work here is done.

For now…

In frantic cleaning mode, with a side of childproofing. Sometimes I think I only invite people over so that it’ll give me incentive to clean the house.

Also, we have obviously amassed way too many tchotchkes for our own good… it’s not so bad when they’re spread out on various surfaces, but it’s looking a wee bit cluttered now that I’ve moved everything out of grabby toddler range. I think I’ll do some serious de-cluttering in a couple of months when we do our big spring clean, because I live in fear of turning into my paternal grandmother (who was somewhat compulsive in her tchotchke ownership).

It would be nice if The Boy could be home to help, but he’s off teaching at the community college. Blargh.

We went to Salsa’s for supper. It was muy yum, and very cheap - $16.22 and both of us are stuffded!

Once the shrimp and rice settle, I’ll have room for ice cream, which will give me my daily dose of calcium. See - it’s medicinal!

It’s also coooooooold out there. Stoopit winter snuck back. I am not amused.

Muppet, if you’d only let Gnat break them, you’d have a good reason to get rid of all of them! And I’m glad we’re helping with the housework. By forcing you to do some.

Have you warned the cats, yet?
Our child has diabetes in order to drive me crazy. Blood sugar at dinner- fine. A little high, but fine. Dinner? Not unusual, didn’t eat a whole lot. Blood sugar at bedtime? Sky-high. Good thing Mr. Lissar picked tonight to switch over toddler duties from me to him! I bet Gnat will need at least one change and a cup of water sometime in the night.
Also, someone stop me from reading any more of the trainwreck thread about adoptive kids calling their parents ‘Mom’ and ‘Dad’. It’s stupid and horrifying.

Anyone interested in getting us started on Monday???

Happy Birthday, Spaz!

LiLi, we haven’t told the cats. I think they’ll enjoy it more if it’s a surprise.

(Although I think Morgan may have already figured it out, because she’s practicing running around the house as if she were being chased, complete with petrified expression and tail all puffed out)

Time to clean litterboxes. Joy. Bliss. Sigh.

ARGH! Just seeing the thread title makes me want to rant. I refuse to read it because it’ll just piss me off. Genetics does not make a family!

Had pizza for dinner, which means leftovers! And did a touch of grocery shopping. Still haven’t taken my car to the dealership.

I was worried that the pizza was going to give me the barfs all night since I didn’t have lunch, but my stomach seems to be settling down (it usually starts with horrible cramps.)

Someone has identified the OP-er as a troll, according to a Pit thread, so that kind of explains it

This is why I love Two Lumps

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SPAZ!!!

I am -soooo- glad that today is FIRDAY! Oh and FCM is right, it has turned very cold outside again … but hey it is still January, so I guess that is to be expected. I just had a chuckle at a couple of my good friends … I love em, but they have a terrible tendency to mis-pronounce stuff! Today, they recommended a restaurant to another friend, and when she tried to look it up, she found out the place was called “Gunnings,” not “Gunney’s” which is what they’d said (it’s up near Ellicott City, seafood place, if anyone knows of it). I apologize if there are people who call it Gunney’s, btw. LOL That too is a possibility!

I think I’ll probably be doing some more cooking and baking this weekend. I don’t have any other plans, except to go grocery shopping. I might make some chili in the crock pot. I’m also going to see if I can make some low calorie “treats.” Heh, I’m not sure such a thing is possible, but at least I’ll try it.

So have a good weekend all, and enjoy!

Say, FCM, were you able to trade the lionfish back? I showed **Mr. Taters **the picture of the eaten fish; he thought it was pretty cool looking.

Herbs, my weight watchers cookbook has a few low cal treats in it.

Just got done breaking down and cleaning the fish tank. Yes, we finally did it. I came home to find Mr. Taters in the process of breaking down the tank. He had it emptied and washed out, but we still had to clean all the other parts, plus wash the gravel.

Anyway, it’s nice and clean now and looks good again. That’s what we get for slacking on the 10 percent water changes every week.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN It’s (my) Firday!!! YAY!!!

I’ll do Monday’s MMP if’n y’all want. Might as well. Don’t know what it’ll be but it ain’t like that matters! :stuck_out_tongue:

Up, caffeinated, off to work. It’s Greek night at the restaurant across the street from work.

Today is errands and chores day. Grocery run done, laundry in process I am going to eat lunch then clean the bathroom and kitchen.

Envy me my exciting Parisian life! :stuck_out_tongue:

**rosie **- that Two Lumps was a hoot!

**tarra **- I think (but I won’t swear to it) that Gunning’s originated in Baltimore. At least I know there’s a Gunning’s on Hanover St and I know I’ve eaten there at least once. I wonder if yours is related to mine? … Yeah, it is.

**Taters **- *someone *hasn’t talked to the pet store yet. He doesn’t want to give it up, but we’ll never be able to have interesting fish if we don’t… unless we have a lionfish-only tank. Nope, no more tanks in my living room.

Gee, mmmmmmm, life in Paris sounds a lot like life in Mechanicsville… Except your day is well underway and I just dragged myself out of bed to tend to the critters, then load the dishwasher.
