Prematurely canceled shows

A second for Nero Wolfe. But the shows I really miss are Crusade (DAMN TBS for its interfering ways and its complete lack of comprehension!), Dilbert (Wasn’t doing well against Buffy because of fan overlap. So what did they do? Moved it against Angel. :smack: ), and Quark (Interstellar Hefty bags of garbage? Classic!).

I totally forgot about Quark
Only 9 episodes. Fairly funny start and still rough around the edges. It should have been groomed, not but to sleep. Buck Henry created it and he already had spoofed spy movies so well with Get Smart.
I would not call it great but it was promising.
Dilbert was pretty hit or miss, I don’t think it would have found an audience but they sure didn’t help it.

Good call, the first season was too much of the one joke show but the second season was very funny. Also great opening theme song.
Theme song to the show was “My Life” by Billy Joel and is sung by the cast of the show. Tom Hanks is the foreground singer.
I just learned about the cast singing the song today, but I always loved that a TV show had a Billy Joel Song.

Twin Peaks of course. Brilliant show and so far unmatched.

Green Acres Victim of the CBS “if it happens in the country, kill it” purge.

Too Close for Comfort How DARE they take Lydia Cornell away from me?

A little before my time, but WKRP in Cincinatti ran for 4 years. I’d love to have seen more.

I lost interest in X-Files toward the end. What happen to the Lone Gunmen that was so painful?

American Gothic, Action, VR5, & Andy Richter Controls The Universe.

I’ll second Profit, The P.J.'s, and Lone Gunmen.

If I have to add Arrested Developement to this list in a few months I’m gonna be one unhappy man.

65 posts and no mention yet of Invader Zim!

…No… it was mentioned on page one… IIRC

Truer words were never spoken.

Sniff…me too.

Which wouldn’t have been as bad had the second episode (first one aired) not been a clip show of the best moments from “all their previous episodes”.

Back to the OP, I want to see how Point Pleasant’s first season ended. The show basically sucked rocks, but damnit, I still wanna know!

Has anyone mentioned American Gothic ? It lasted only one season and there are four unaired episodes out there. Seems ripe for a DVD release.

Another vote for Dark Angel, only because it’s end broke my little girl’s heart.
Also another for **Freaks and Geeks ** and the one that hasn’t been mentioned, Miracles.

I really wish that “Wonder Woman” had lasted two or three more seasons!

Another show that was tragically cut short was “Tru Calling”.

It’s set to be released in October .

I just hope the unaired episodes explain just a little bit about what the hell is going on. Shows like that and Twin Peaks that set up a mystery that is never resolved kill me (luckily Twin Peaks got the movie so they at least could solve the murder!). I just hope Lost gets some warning before it goes out so they can wrap up the threads!

The unaired episodes were eventually aired on the Sci-Fi Channel. Don’t look for an answer. At least they had a chance for closure, albeit a disappointing one. Still, it’s better than most of the crap that’s on.

Gary Cole was greatly underrated as was the entire series. It should have at least gone on for 3-4 years.

I think it’s a sad testimony to how slpit-second TV has become that we’re even having this thread. SO many great shows (and so many of them Sci-Fi or comedy), many of which died practically before they were born.

Johnny Bago

In 1993, ran for eight episodes.

Not that Little Miss Movie Star would be doing the show anymore anyway, but I’m right there with ya. I loved that show.

Ahhh…Jordan Catalano!
I was watching a CSI rerun on Spike the other day. Sara Sidle was interviewing a girl who had known the victim. The girl referred to the victim, on whom she had a longtime crush, as her “jordan catalano”. When Gil Grissom looked quizzically at Sara, she just shook her head, letting him know that she knew what the girl meant but that she wouldn’t be able to explain it in a million years to someone like him.

I did!

It’s got at least another year. I want it to keep going long after that, but three years is decent.
