President Zelensky refuses U.S. offer to evacuate, saying 'I need ammunition, not a ride'

The_Other_Waldo_Pepper’s spelling uses lowercase cursive font letterforms. The spelling is correct in that font. Your spelling is in the normal “upright” font; theirs is in the cursive font form, equivalent to our italics in typography.

You can see here:

But, yes, it’s confusing and should be given in the standard upright typeface to avoid confusion (at least IMHO).

Washington Post article about how the Ukrainian population are using social media:

It’s got an effective map of Ukraine and Russia that one Ukrainian Instagrammer has put up.

Six months on, Zelenskyy continues to show his rhetorical skills:

This December, Time Magazine won’t have to debate who will be Man of the Year.

Well, him, or Ukrainians collectively.

I love that! Good for him! LOL

I had already shared that message with several friends and relatives. It’s as good as Obama’s best, with the added power of life-and-death circumstance. I first saw it on Reddit, and have tried to locate the source, but without much success.

Google offers several sites reporting it, chiefly CNN. Some articles mention that it was a Telegram post – apparently Telegram is an important messaging app in Ukraine, India and elsewhere – but it doesn’t show up in Zelensky’s official Telegram feed, at least not in English.

Some sources provide a bit more text, which I think actually strengthens the message:
"Do you still think we are one people? Do you still think you can
scare us, break us, force us to make concessions? Don’t you really
get it? Don’t you understand who we are? What we stand for? What
we are all about?

Read my lips: Without gas or without you? Without you. Without
light or without you? Without you. Without water or without you.
Without you. Without food or without you? Without you.

Cold, hunger, darkness and thirst are not as frightening and deadly
for us as your friendship and brotherhood. But history will put
everything in its place. And we will be with gas, light, water and
food and WITHOUT you!"

Not only is he skilled with words, he has backed that up with personal bravery and a strength of will.

News sources are crediting Zelensky as behind the push to make a counter offence large enough to be significant. The Ukrainian military, working with the US and UK came up with the plan for the counter offence in Kharkiv region and it’s a gamechanger.

The high-level, former US and British military leaders talking heads are on a roll now. I just watched Richard Shirreff, Former Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe argue that the West should be giving Ukraine planes and missiles for the HIMARS, to hell with tiptoeing around possibly offending the bear.

Increased morale for the Ukrainians, decreased morale for the Russians. Damn well done.
