"Prettiest Song Ever" revisited

Another vote for Rain Song, Tangerine, and Thats the Way, and you could also include Going to California, and forget basic responses (groans etc, very predictable) but Stairway to Heaven(up until the solo) is definatly in the realms of pretty (not that i dont like the solo, just by then its moving away from ‘pretty’).

I would also add ‘The Blowers Daughter’ by Damien Rice particularly when the piano joins in near the end, just perfect.

Sugar Mountain by Neil Young is also incredibly pretty.

I think Roller Queen by Jimmy Eat World. Very dreamy and pretty. Or maybe (This is) The Dream of Evan and Chan by Dntel.

I’m not an expert on pretty songs, but I nominate “The Ship Song” by Nick Cave.

tsk tsk for you and everyone who failed to correct you. For shame.
line 3 some forever, not for better

And it’s “In My Life”
But I agree.

And a song that it jostles with for first place I put “For Emily, Whenever I May Find Her” by Simon & Garfunkel.

Actually I tend to give most of these songs a perfect 10. None of them actually qualitatively better then any other, I just chose 2 of my favorites. But I can’t believe I forgot this one that I absolutely love. Written by Woody Guthrie, played by Wilco. It’s called “California Stars.” Ooh yeah.

I love Wilco’s version of California Stars. Very pretty indeed.

In terms of sweetness of sound, Pachelbel’s Canon is one of my favorites.

Wow, I posted in the original thread, and now I have to come back to correct you all again?

It’s Aquarela by Vinicius and Toquinho

I’ve seen a couple of suggestions I could go with.

But just to throw in a wild card here - how about ‘Sleep’ by The Dandy Warhols?

Burned With Desire by Armin van Buuren (with Justine Suissa)
