Pretty amazing shooting

The largest annual sports event in Norway, the national rifle championship , was arranged this week. There are three main disciplines: Target shooting (100, 200 and 300m, standing, kneeling and prone), field rapid shooting (popularly called “the diver” due to the dive the shooters do when the order is given) and col. Stang’s competition (similar to UK’s mad minute).

As a hunter and shooter, I’m pretty darned amazed at the level demonstrated by pure amateurs. And as a European, I love that shooting can be shown as what it ought to be, a sport, not a killing activity.
