Prints for tiny photo frames?

My mom bought an ornament set with 3 tiny photo frames, photo sizes 1.5 x 1.5 inches. She wants to give them to my brother and his girlfriend and put photos of them in the frames for them.

How the hell do you get photos to fit in these frames? I assume I have to cut a normal sized print, but if I want to choose certain photos, how do I make the main part (their faces) fit correctly in a 1.5 inch square? The only place I can really get photos of them is taking them from Facebook which gives me lower-res images already which means crappy looking 4x6 prints. And the photos I found, some are closer up, some further away, etc so their faces take up a different proportion of the regular sized image.

Is there any way to do this? I have a Mac and iPhoto but that is it, and I hoped to be able to get prints from Walgreens. I tried googling this issue but my fu must be weak, all I get is links to buy 1.5 inch digital photo keychains

Can’t you just resize all three faces to be the same size, then paste them into a single image so that you only need to make one print? I would think any photo editing software would be able to do this.

Do you mean you’re looking for free photo-sizing software? Try the GIMP.

As far as those miniscule frames go, I gave up trying to put people in them and used some outdoorsy photos I had in mine.

I’m not looking for software although I got Gimp in case I needed it. I need to know HOW to get a certain selection to come out on a print as being 1.5 x 1.5 inches.

Well I messed around with Gimp and may have figured it out, will know in about an hour when I go pick up the print from Walgreens.

Sorry I was out when you posted #4, there. I hope your photos came out the way you wanted them.

Generally, create a new document with the dimensions of 1.5x1.5 at 300dpi. Then paste in a photo and move and resize it within the 1.5 border to your liking.
