priorty

The military is greatly avoiding any urban conflict because of the fedayeen.
But, they are certainly are protecting all the oil wells. Is this there priorty.

The military is avoiding urban fighting for fear of civilian casualities. But yes…the oil fields are a priority.

It has been publicly stated that securing the oil fields is a military objective. I would guess that the coalition are being cautious about urban conflict due to the highly dangerous nature of street fighting. I would disagree with you about the military “greatly avoiding” urban conflict. The coalition have gone into several urban areas in order to arrest key suspects, and they have been involved in many serious firefights as a result. Urban conflict is inevitable in my opinion.

No there are avioding military casulties there are suposed to
go in and root out the fedayeen and liberate the people.

It is just no one wants to give the order to make a 1000 widows.

Can you re-phrase that so it makes more sense? Seriously, I’m not being sarcastic - that post really wasn’t very readable.

The military is suposed to
go in and root out the fedayeen and liberate the people.

It is just no one wants to give the order that would make a 1000 widows.

Priority.

Welcome to SDMB.

It sounds like English might be a second language, for you. Are you, by any chance, an Iraqi expatriate? If so, your perspective on this would be more interesting than the opinions of people who are really not involved. I’m just guessing, because it doesn’t seem like an expatriate of another non-English speaking country would care very much about this subject.

But, yes, the military is being cautious about approaching the cities. This is logical, as house-to-house fighting is very costly, in terms of lives, time, and equipment. I suspect they’re hoping that there will be more defections, and possibly an uprising, before they have to commit to that.

Did you have a reason for posting this in the pit, zipper? If not, maybe a kind mod could move this to a more appropiate forum. It’s a worthy topic for debate, but I feel that it may go unnoticed in the pit.

I was just ventting a feeling I did not think it would go into a debate.
