Prison Break 10/8--Good Fences (spoilers aplenty)

She very recently gave birth. She probably does not look similar to how she did when Michael was thrown in Soma. The story didn’t start “9 months later”.

For some unsubstantiated reason, I do not believe it was Sara’s head in the box. This is a misdirection move by Lincoln, and we will learn why later.

What do you mean? Didn’t we actually see a brief shot of Sarah’s head in the box, flashback-style? Or was it a flashback of her head in some other context?

I love me Dr. Sarah, but unless she’s got a twin, I think she’s gone, man.

Here’s what wiki says about Sara Tancredi.

Am I the only one that remembers the earlier scene with Michael and Whistler looking out the window at the fence (with armed guards behind it) and some dialog about it not being powered? So it was clear to me that his main purpose was to get the fence powered again so that the anti-stink stuff could then eat through it. I also assume that getting the cell with the view of the anti-stinking area was a side benefit.

What I’m not sure about was whether he’d planned all along for Belick to invite himself along, planned to be seen by Belick suspiciously pushing dirt into the box, planned to have Belick take that info to Patrone, all to either get Belick off his back or win points with Patrone or both. Or maybe something else. That Michael is just one damned sneaky bastard.

Also, won’t the guards notice when a large section of the fence just falls out or disappears? Or maybe it’ll be that the stuff just weakens the metal without fully destroying it, so that the fence will look ok from a distance, but then Michael can just push through it.

On another note, I was very, very sorry to see Sarah killed. I believe that she’s really gone, and I believe that it was done by the writers as an easy contrivance because the actress won’t be back anytime soon. Still, they could be setting up for the second half of this season to be a major revenge vendetta by Michael. It actually might be cool to see; Michael’s a master planner, if he gets out of Sona, learns what happened to Sarah, then takes some time to coolly plan a complex revenge plot, that could be fun to see play out.

So much for my theory…

I remember a scene where they’re looking at the fence. Whistler asks Michael what they’re going to do about the power and Michael says it’s to their advantage to have the fence as deadly as possible. Presumably so that the fence will be hot and more susceptible to the corpse de-stinkifying acid spray.

Here’s an interview with the PB producers. The writers decided the character needed to die for “motivation” and they tried to get the actress back for half the season but she didn’t want to return. I liked the relationship and thought the ending was too abrupt but it looks like they didn’t have much choice.

Well, in my opinion, she was a dick about it. “As hard as we all tried, the Prison Break powers that be and I were unable to find a way to meet both the needs of the story and the needs of my family.” The hell? They offered to fly the crew to your damn house and film there. Jesus, what does it take?

This is the only reason I am continuing to watch the show. They better do me proud!

A little late, but I found an interview with PB executive producer Matt Olmstead regarding Sarah Wayne Callies’ departure: http://community.tvguide.com/blog-entry/TVGuide-Editors-Blog/Ausiello-Report/Prison-Break-Exclusive/800024014

Psssst … post #29
