What an excellent episode. It’s like they brought in a new writer/director or something. I mean, I like the show anyway, but last night was quality television, IMHO.
What’s yours? C’mon, I know there are still a few of you out there.

This was an excellent episode. For an “action” show, Prison Break has added remarkable depth to its characters. I’d never have thought I would feel sorry for T-Bag, but I’m haunted by his self-description, “I am the laws of karma all come down wrong.”
I’m glad they tied up the business re: T-Bag’s “family” & C-Note’s daughter and have both on more interesting trajectories now. Also glad to see Pope again (if only for a week) and appreciate not dwelling on Sucre’s romance too long.
But things are really picking up with Scofield & Co. Linc & Michael both give Kim a beatdown (one vehicular, one more up-close-and-personal) and Sarah gets her (temporary) vengeance on the magnificent bastard Kellerman, as well as makes a date with Michael (though not holding my breath on that one anytime soon). With Bellick & C-Note helping Mahone, he becomes an even more formidable adversary, though I hope they don’t do something stupid re: the audio recording (Rule 1: MAKE A COPY!).
Anyone check out the goldfinch website?
Great fun overall.
Excellent episode. I wonder that’s on the computer thingie.
The capture of T-Bag was a great storyline.
It was the showrunner, Paul T. What’shisname, who wrote it.
I really really like C-note, talk about a guy getting constantly, and undeservedly, fucked over just for living. The show also has a really great ensemble of villains, almost all with depth and positive traits, to go along with the badness. The only one who’s not that well sketched is Kim. But T-Bag, Mahone, Belliq and Kellerman are all very well written and extremely well acted. Miller OTOH, couldn’t act his ass off a toilet seat, and his character is not all that interesting. In fact, all of the Fox River 8 are more interesting than the brothers, good or bad.
The only thing that pains me is that my country man, Stormare, was chewing the scenery even more than usual. Why they picked a Swede to play a mob guy of Italian stock, I’ll never know. His Swedish accent grated on my Swedish ears all the time, not sounding one bit Italian.
I know. T-Bag is such a sad, tragic character but I find myself so sympathetic to him. The scenes with him as a boy were heart-breaking, especially his father’s particular form of “affection.” Gods, that was awful.
His speech has always been poetic but it never really hit me until last night what a beautiful but tragically damaged mind he has.
Oh, and don’t get me started on C-Note’s scene; holding his daughter and crying. That had me just about blubbering myself.
Last night proved these people can act, if they’re given the right material and direction. No cheese required.
And more Sucre is always fun. Run, Mijo, run!
I agree, it was a great episode. Loved seeing Pope again! And as the father of a little girl, the C-Note story was heartbreaking.
What happened to the daughter? Did she die? Was there an organ donation? Why did he let her die instead of getting the treatments the doctor was about to begin?
He didn’t let her die. I think it was clear that Mahone would facilitate all necessary steps to ensure the best medical care available (since, being a father, he was somewhat sympathetic to C-Note’s plight), and she was hooked up to the dialysis machine when they both walked out to hunt down Scofield & co.
No, she ended up getting hospital treatment after C-Note made a deal to help Mahone get Scofield.
That reminds me of another touch I liked - you could tell that Mahone, as the father who feels helpless to protect his child, genuinely empathized with C-Note.
I think he just didn’t trust the low-life bribe-taking free clinic doctor. Plus what Skammer said.
I’ve never liked Mahone, but I was touched when he gave the Get Well Teddy Bear that he initially bought for his son to C-Note’s Daughter.
Now it makes sense. I don’t know why, but I completely disconnected: I was thinking that that was Mahone’s son in that hospital scene. I thought maybe… well, nevermind. I like the actual resolution much better.
What website is that? Guess I’ll have to re-watch.
Actually, this is the first episode in a long time I feel like I’m going to save and re-watch. There’s not much on TV for me Tuesday through Saturday anyway, and this one is worth seeing again.
ETA: Thursdays are good too.
Yeah, but is he going to follow through and kill each of the FR8? He needs C-Note, but when his usefulness has exhausted itself…
Ya, T-Bag doing the decent thing was interesting.
I was wondering if the falshdrive would be erased when they looked at it (though I don’t know why why Pope would do that)
The file is there, guess next week we will hear what is on it. (yes, make many copies, put it on youtube, etc)
Brian
But Mahone keeps getting more complex. First he just wants to catch/kill bad guys. Then he figures out he’s working for bad guys and the guys he’s after might not be all bad. Then he’s acting primarily to protect his child. He could figure something out and switch at any time.
And lots of convoluted fun will ensue.
