Problem with chili-Actually need answer FAST

Large pot of chili and too much cayenne pepper was added. how do I calm this down?

Add more of everything else.

Not an option, due to time constraints and finances.

Serve with lots of shredded cheese and sour cream - dairy helps mute spiciness.

This is the solution.

Alternatively, serve it to me.

mmm

And glasses of whole milk!

You can add a lot of liquid and then drain all of it off. Restore the liquid with beer, water, whatever, and re-season the remaining chili, but probably not with more cayenne or other hot peppers.

Warn everyone ahead of time.

Add more tomatoes. Got any tomato paste.

Thin it out with water and some lemon or lime juice.
Add to the pot

Peanut butter, butter, sour cream, another can of diced tomatoes…and they are scarfing it down right now.

Peanut butter?!?

Sounds legit to me. Sneak them peanuts in. Better than beans.

I haven’t gotten any complaints…but I have gotten a few blue ribbons.

Oh, yeah, serve it with beer, too. Alcohol is a good solvent for capsaicin-laden oil.
