Problem with search engine

I was searching for threads on the Olympics, specifically for a certain thread I know I participated in late last year. I wasn’t able to find it by searching on “Olympic*”, title only, all forums, all dates, but I was able to find it by generating a thread view of the Great Debates forum that included last November. (The thread is titled “Should the Olympics allow transexuals to compete?” and was opened November 14th, 2003.)

Is this simply because the reindex is not yet complete, or is there some other problem here?

I think the re-indexing is still unfinished. I recently ran a search that returned a lot of hits, but not the thread I was looking for. Then I noticed there was a substantial gap in the returns, from about Jan 15, '04, going all the way back to mid-August of '03. Indexing 2.5 million messages has got to take a long time.
