When I lived in Bullhead City Az,Ortega Taco Sauce was scarce.Searched every market in the town plus the surronding towns of Lauglin NV,Needles CA and Kingman AZ.Finally found some of the small bottles in Las Veagas, but they only had four so i bought em.Since I eat mexican fare nearly every day, they didn’t last long.Had my folks bring me out a case of it from MI when they visited. Then one day, it was on the shelves of the store I went to the most, tho it was only the mild.Even here back in MI its hard to find the hot, which i prefer.
I live around the corner from a Thai market that has them fresh, so it’s not a problem, but I’ve also found that if you subsitute regular lime leaves, it doesn’t make a really big difference.
Still, why is it so surprising that they’re hard to find? It’s not as if they’re also used in hambugers, burritos, and tunafish sandwhiches.
See, this only works if you have access to any lime leaves at all.
Because they used not to be hard to find at the kind of store I’m talking about, and not everyone eats “hambugers, burritos, and tunafish sandwhiches.”
Another one, 1/4 inch mouse pads. Good luck! I cannot understand why the latest in mouse pads are these shitty ass 3/16 inch pads. They grip for about 2 days, and then slide all over the place because there’s not enough weight to keep 'em down. I found a place online that offers 1/4 pads, but I have to buy a certain minimum and in bulk. Maybe I should, and then take over the mouse pad market. :dubious:
When I was a kid, you could buy shrunken heads cheaply and conveniently (with a good selection too!) from ads in comic books. They seem to be almost unobtainable today-anybody know where to buy them?
Second: thos pressure relief plugs on pressure cookers-my wife regularly blows them out-and I can’t find replacements! :smack:
Our 35th (coral) wedding anniversary is coming up next month and we are finding it hard to find both coral themed cards and gifts to buy each other. The card problem has at last been solved by finding an on-line company to make them for us. As for the gift, my wife would like some coral jewellery. I know that there are environmental concerns about using this product nowadays, so we decided to look for antique examples instead . After trawling round various jewellers and antique shops I am afraid up till now we have drawn a blank. So the search continues.
On Route 12 in Deer Park, at the light North of the Mall and just south of Quentin, there’s a new grocery store - it’s in the shopping center on the east side of 12, by the (either) Circuit City or Best Buy (I don’t remember which it is) - have you tried there? I can’t for the life of me think of the name - I do NOT think it’s a Whole Foods - they’re building one of those up there shortly - it has a different name.
Also, didn’t Garden Fresh Market buy out Cub Foods? You might try them too.
And next time I’m at Eurofresh in Palatine, I’ll check there for ya. They carry lots of different stuff.
It’s called Fresh Market. You can probably get their number from 411 and call to see if they have it - depending on how far North you are in Lake County, it could be a drive!
Welsh Rarebit by Stouffers. The local stores used to have it, but stopped. I then filled out handfuls of those “special request” cards, but still no joy.
If you can’t find any coral jewelery, apparently jade is the “modern” gift for 35th anniversaries. This list is one of several similar lists I found by Googling “wedding anniversary gifts”.
