Professions not represented on the Dope?

I see most of us are professionals. Besides the high school of college crowd, how many folks here have more mundane jobs such as waiter(ess) or hair cutters (what do you call these people again? I avoid the places because they’re too expensive.)

Or for another matter, what about professional barbers? These guys are fantastic.

I was a Process Server.

I would love to see an “Ask the nun” thread.

Do we have any diesel fitters or rectum stretchers in the house?

I’m a fairly boring college student, of which I’m sure there are many.
I’m also in a fraternity and like it, which, while not technically an occupation, seems to be pretty underrepresented.

Now if my sister were here
she worked at a cryobank dealing with sperm donations, and I believe is just about to take a job in Albequerque with the job title of “spermologist”

My vocation is physicist, and I know we have a few more of those around. Back in the day, though, I’ve also earned money as a short-order cook (which I’m sure is pretty common) and an electrician’s assistant (but we have some full electricians around). Probably the most unique job I’ve had, though, is ride operator at a kiddie amusement park (the kind that caters to the under-100-pounds set). Long days in the hot summer sun, but man, that job was fun.

Doorman for the last 7 years. In the past I’ve been a mixed-farm (beef, grain, sugar beets) labourer, janitor, lumber piler, dishwasher, convenience store clerk, potato farm labourer, baker, cook (line and head), tried selling vacuum cleaners for one day, editor (poetry), rock cager (seriously – I was 16 or 17, it was an ill-conceived government project intended to stop erosion on the south shore of Prince Edward Island), and furniture mover. I’ve also had a couple of books of poetry published to lukewarm reviews.

My retirement plans involve a cardboard box behind a nursing home.
