Protect American Snow?

Really enjoyed Weird Earl’s site today. My only question is, why would they use the name http://www.protectamericansnow.com? I know the majority of the country is in the temperate zone, but states like Florida are sub-tropical and Hawaii has probably never had snow. Are those states that don’t have snow going to be protected from the threat of foreign aggression? And what about the summer months, are the defense measures going to be shut down from April to October when there is little American snow to protect? Are they only going to defend areas that have American snow on the ground? If so I’m moving to the Rockies where there is snow year round and I can sleep at night knowing I am close to the American snow that is being protected.

Hmmmm, good question. Maybe we should ask this guy, thinksnow

Good screen name, too. I like it. Welcome to your new addiction, Goofinov.

thinksnow= think + snow
protectamericansnow= protect + Americans + now

Subtle, but key, difference.

Thanks for asking, and welcome to the board.

What, thinksnow?

Your name isn’t thinks + now? :wink:

Goofinov, I don’t know how I’ll explain my out loud laughter to my coworkers. Welcome aboard.

Of course it is a joke. I found it entertaining that a serious organization, creating a serious web page, hadn’t thought more carefully about the url they gave their site. If you go to protectamericanow.com it redirects you to the …snow page, so they obviously put some thought into it. It just screamed at me to satire an organization that creates a web page to exploit peoples deepest, darkest fears to attain its goals, and is so careless with its name. I guess I’m more twisted, or more easily amused, than I thought .

Like I said, I figured you were joking. [sub]Man, I gotta stop posting before I get my 32oz coffee![/sub]

Really though, a very good entry to the board. Good name, too. You’ll go far, Goof.

As you you, the cat, c’mere, let’s “talk.” :wink:
