PS2 To England (NTSC to PAL)

Moving from North America to England and want to bring my Play Station 2 with me. I know the voltage is different (I have a convertor to correct this) but can you plug a North American PS2 into a English TV (PAL). I know the games are different formats.

Yes, but you’ll need to pick up an NTSC-to-PAL converter. I’ve seen them anywhere from about $20 to $50.

Note that many newer TVs support both systems. I live in India, which follows the PAL standard, however my TV supports NTSC as well, so I can connect my PS2 directly to the TV without the need for an NTSC-PAL converter.

However, if your TV in UK does not support NTSC, you’ll need the converter.

Also, use a good quality 220-240v to 110v step-down transformer. Make sure you’re not using the 50watt transformers meant for electric shavers, etc.
