I downloaded the demo for inFamous and found the gameplay to be terrifically fun. You have certain electric powers you are able to use against anyone in the game. You can go after civilians, or bring them back to life. The demo doesn’t really give a good idea on how the Karma in the game works. But, I get the idea you can set your character up to be evil, or good depending on your actions. And, I am guessing this affects the storyline.
Has anyone bought this? What do you think of it? Does it live up to the demo or get boring fast?
I am vacillating between getting this or waiting til Ghostbusters comes out and grab that, instead.
I got it last week. It’s decent. I’m not a huge open-world gamer, which this one is. Though. It’s like GTA but you are a superhero.
Graphics are good. Control is pretty good. So far the powers aren’t amazing me, but I’m only a few hours in so that may be why though. Story seems good too.
I just finished the demo and it seems like fun. I’ll pick it up tonight and report tomorrow.
My cunundrum is, I’ve always known that if I had superpowers I’d be evil, if I am in this game my powers are red, if I’m good, blue. I really like blue though…
I just finished the game (got it Tuesday night. Fiance was not happy with me). I greatly enjoyed it. I was evil, of course, so now I’m tempted to play again as good.
It was a lot of fun, I highly suggest it. I hope there’ll be a sequel sometime.
What surprised me most were all the minions. I couldn’t go from one rooftop to another without getting lit up. And I had to work for each kill. And then they’d surround me and hit me from multiple sides. Good times, good times, although I did get frustrated at times.
Rant: how do they expect anyone from keeping themselves from being evil? That Trish is just a huge bitch. I tried killing her once but the game stopped me. “Don’t hurt Trish.” If it were real life I would have been evil also. After all the good I tried to do it’s never enough. I thought that during “The Incredibles” also. People were so quick to denounce the Supers but once they needed help they wanted them back. Same with “Hancock.” He saved people’s lives but it wasn’t, “Thank you (except from Bateman’s character)” but “why didn’t you jump up!?” People are never happy. /Rant

They eventually warm up to you and start taking your picture and asking for help while cheering, clapping, throwing stones at bad guys, etc…Oh and Trish comes around before you have to let her go SPLAT
Bought the game last Thursday, finished it last night. I did the “Good” ending, and I did every side mission.
I’m going to do the Evil version of the game, now. The power reward for being Good is kind of lame- I never found a serious use for it.
One thing that I found annoying throughout the entire game was how psychic the henchmen were- they always seemed to know where I was, and would often try to shoot through buildings to hit me. It got old real fast.
