hi
anybody here support and request staff to have a forum/game/whatever
for discussing psychological matters?
Reported for forum change.
I’m going to move this to About This Message Board, it’s better suited there.
“Psychological matters” is a rather broad range of topics-could you be a little more specific?
Also, what do you mean by “game” when it comes to discussing psychological matters?
What exactly do you mean by psychological matters, and what does game refer to in this instance?
If you are looking for factual information about psychological matters, the correct forum for that would be General Questions, which is for factual questions.
If you are seeking advice about psychological matters, that tends to fall under the heading of health related issues, and our forum for that is In My Humble Opinion (IMHO). As the forum name implies, any responses you receive there are just the opinions of some online folks, and shouldn’t be taken as the equivalent of professional advice (this applies to all things medical, psychological, and legal).
If you wish to debate some aspect of the topic (for example, how certain psychological issues should be treated) then the forum for that would be Great Debates.
If you just want to bitch about your psychologist, the forum for that would be the BBQ Pit.
Does that address your question?
i feel like IMHO is a big large sized… and the topics are pretty large. my threads will suit there still thought there is scope for a better space and it opens for an all new avenue for debate…
and psychological simply means something that may not be in existence… it happens in someone’s head only… not exactly health related… for example … one might fancy seeing aliens… might be true for him. but not for others… and psychology as a subject has curious elements like describing/defining/examining/ etc
and yes i donot mean any guaranteed professional advices here. but people can be more generous.
thanks
it was my mistake… i saw a link on this site named game boards[exactly game room ] or something… i was actually referring to that board… rather than mentioning games…
That’s an very unusual definition of psychological.
We don’t really have smaller forums here (ignoring the Barn House or Sweet Home Chicago), just a few broad ones. If threads are interesting they seem to get enough attention no matter how busy the forum is. Start a thread and see how it goes.
My 7th grade math teacher, Mr. Richard B. Betteridge, who first “turned me on” to math, was of the opinion that numbers are merely a conceptual thing that exist in our minds.
So, we should certainly have a psychological forum (or sub-forum) in which to discuss such psychological phenomena as, for example, whether 0.99999… = 1.
Although I have to admit, a “woo” forum might not be a bad idea – keep the bullshit contained to one place. (Not saying that’s necessarily what the OP is talking about, but he did mention aliens)
Tell me more about what exactly do you mean by psychological matters.
This is going to cost me a hundred bucks an hour, isn’t it?
ELIZA is free. Just google her for a downloadable copy.
Where I once worked, upon concluding a session with ELIZA, you got a final message: “The bill will be in the mail.”
Sure enough, when you looked at your in-house e-mail, there was a bill there!
He also mentioned psychiatry.
Or could there be a game entitled psychological matters?
Do you want to play a game?
Pshaw.
yes really i can see a number of replies!!! holicr!!!
my first day here was following a thread lust at workplace… and i was glad that people tend to discuss something that could not be among friend circles… that can be as hilarious as anything…
Basically forums should be for discussing anything… but anything can be irritating to many… so a fresh forum… “Psychological” or what ever name you give it might keep the bullshit (yeah i enjoyed that comment Guinastasia) away from the best of discussions…
yet it will serve my and a lot of others purposes
