THat would work for me. I’d probably take the BART in, unless one of the south bay dopers wants to drive in with me (i go to your place, you drive :)). If I go BART, i’d need to get out of there so I can get down to the Fremont station in time (it’s easiest for me to get in and out of).
I think I’ll be able to make it. Where is the Chevy’s? Embarcadero and what?
Upstairs in Embarcadero 2, I think.
Bump!
Well I tried mentioning this in chat again last night but my frigging computer crashed
We’re still on, yeah?
Bueller?
Okay… lemme get this straight.
There’s finally a dopefest planned for SF… and you’re planning on Chevy’s?!???
Chevy’s is like half a step up from Taco Bell, fer chrissakes. It’s one of those places you go when you’re in some little podunk down that has nothing better to offer, or if you’re an out-of-towner that doesn’t know any better.
Just two blocks away is Tlaloc, a much better Mexican restaurant that has no trouble accomodating large parties. That’s my suggestion.
The way it’s looking I’ll be happy if we wind up meeting anywhere …
Eh Ruadh, you must remember, just because we dont keep up a thread, doesnt mean the BAD’s dont plan on going ;). ANyway, i think Zyzz has a good idea, perhaps we can go to Tlaloc instead. Probably better food, and it’s not in the mission like demo didn’t want :). I still plan on going!
Hey, I’ll be there too. It should be a hell of a lot easier than getting to Angel Freaking Island.
I haven’t been to Tlaloc, but everyone would rather go there that’s fine by me. I’m not wedded to Chevy’s or anything.
Well, i just found out today that Tlaloc closes at 8. Given the fact that downtown SF closes at about 6:30, that really isn’t all that weird, but it might put a damper on trying to go there.
Listen to this man, he is telling the truth. I could cook better Mexican chow out of the frozen food section of a 7-11.
I should give this event the ultimate kiss of death by promising to show up, but we’ll have to see what my grueling remodeling schedule is going to be like this weekend.
I’ll try and stay abreast of this thread, now that I’m back from Taiwan.
Let’s stick to Chevy’s then. I’m here for two weeks and you guys live here, there’s plenty of other times to get real Mexican food (and hey I like Taco Bell thank you very much!).
What time you guys planning on getting there?
I had my weekends mixed up. I thought I was going to be in LA this weekend; turns out I’m home, but I have baseball games to go to. Depending on how long tomorrow’s game goes and how motivated I feel afterwards I’ll probably be able to drop by for a while.
Chevy’s from 5-ish, correct?
Count me in as well, no way I’d miss out on margaritas with the dopers.
Holy shizit! I didn’t realize this had crept up so fast! We have been so busy lately!
Sorry I didn’t pick a better restaurant, but Taco Be…I mean Chevy’s has worked fine in the past soooo… Besides, I’m not going for the food, I’m going for the company. Plus it has easy parking and cheap pitchers of margaritas.
Anyway, I’ll see you guys tomorrow night around 5 or so.
I just made a reservation for 5 PM for 10 people under Cecil Adams.
Hey, you guys, heads up – on the 8th will be the San Francisco Grand Prix, as you probably already know, a bicycle race featuring the mighty Lance Armstrong and U.S. Postal Team. I’m not quite sure of the route, but it’s going to cock up the already wretched parking situation in the City.
I haven’t had time to post. but I plan to be there…
slainte (how do I do an accent?)
Pugluvr, according to the Chron, the Grand Prix is on Sunday. So parking will be normal, ie, really, really horrid. Yay!
