Psychics and Alexandru Preda

I just read a short article in a Swedish newspaper about how a psychic helped solve a murder case in Romania. Knowing the track record for psychics as well as the accuracy of newspapers I thought I’d check the facts as best I know how.

Websearching turned up zilch, so I’ll ask you. The story goes that Romanian Alexandru Preda disappeared from his home on February 5th this year. A psychic named Nicoleta Moldoveanu was brought to Preda’s home and then declared that he was no longer alive, and described the place where the body was.

A week later, after a lot of searching in the vicinity, they found the body in a channel that was half-full of water that was partially frozen, which was how the psychic described the body’s location. To me, this sounds either like a lucky hit or a vague similarity that grew in the retelling. I note that the newspaper didn’t post the actual prediction, just that the location of the body fit it. Also, there’s no indication that the psychic’s aid actually helped in locating the body, although the newspaper claims that the psychic “found” the body.

Anyone know more about this case than I?

I just wanted to give this a bump and add the following:

unirea.150m.com/arhiva/2001/mai/17mai/editorial.html
arhiva.monitorulcluj.ro/2001/2001.05.16/opinii2.html

These sites may be talking about the case, but since I don’t speak Romanian (if that’s indeed what it is, and if Romanian is the language spoken in Romania) I don’t know for sure. Does anyone here understand it? Could you provide me with a rough translation of the contents?

One last bump, then I’ll get on with my life…

i think the psychic murdered the person…
