Psychopathic Family Circus today

What the heck is up with psycho Billy or Jeffy today (June 27)?

If brothers whomping on each other is psychopathic, then me and 90% of boys out there also had psychopathic brothers.

PJ is supposed to be a very young toddler.

[Threadshit] Why does anyone even bother reading that unfunny crap? How does it remain syndicated? [/threadshit]

And how old is Billy? 5? 7? If he was 14, then you maybe have a problem. If Billy was killing squirrels had hanging them up with his belt, you have a problem. This is not a problem.

If it was Mom saying “PJ, stand still and play with your brother”, then it would be psychopathic. But then it would also be funny, and that’s not allowed.

When I was about 10 or 11, I used to use my 5 or 6 yr old brother to practice my judo throws. The mad little bastard used to love it. And when he didn’t, I’d threaten to beat him up.

They put it in a spot where you can’t help but scan it as you look for the actual funny comics. When they reprinted old strips from the '60s a few months back, some of them were actually amusing. Nothing like the garbage it’s become.

“Psychopathic”?

Maybe if he was holding a chainsaw (“Tag! You’re It!”) or an ax or even a crossbow.
Let me guess…you’re a social worker, right?

No Family Circus, no Dysfunctional Family Circus.

Well this is as good a thread as any to put in a plug for the Nietzsche Family Circus (which, with all due credit, I found thanks to the Dope):

Of course, then it would be the Addams Family Circus.

Here’s my take on violence and *the Family Circus
*

Candlestick Momma

Jeffy Cage

Revenge

  1. It’s not funny, obviously.

  2. He’s just trying to beat up his brother who is running away. Pretty normal.

Wow! Are these two real Family Circus strips?

“There’s always someone bigger than you!” :stuck_out_tongue:

What the heck is up with you reading Family Circus?

This is the one I like.

That can’t be real…right?

Speaking as the father of three boys, 7, 3, and 1: A three year-old trying to box a one year-old is perfectly normal. It is NOT desirable by any stretch of the imagination, and must be broken up as soon as possible, but it is normal.

I think at least 95% of the strip’s audience is grandparents.

I used to think as you did, that it was unfunny crap that needed to go away.

Then came the day when the newspaper ran this strip directly above this “Pearls Before Swine”, and that made it all worthwhile.
