'Punch the Clock' is not on iTunes. Why?

I have a sudden urge to get a copy of ‘Everyday I Write the Book,’ one of Elvis Costello’s biggest hits off his 1983 ‘Punch the Clock’ album. It (the album) is not on iTunes.

Also ‘Almost Blue’ seems to be missing in action.

Why would that be? His other albums are on iTunes.

Different label/producer/owner or something. There are lots of artists whose collections on the online services are incomplete unfortunately. Sometimes only one song is missing from an album (“You Were The Last High” on the Dandy Warhol’s last album was an example).

Harpumph! I say!

Also the Kid Creole & The Coconuts selection is not what it should be.

I hear you - Night Ranger’s “7 Wishes” is there, but sans “Interstate Love Affair,” the one song I really wanted.

Tell me about it. I wanted to get some Meatloaf tunes with my freebie songs, and they don’t have any. Harrumph.

Sometimes it’s because the composer on one song is different than the others, and they didn’t set up the rights properly way back when. Not in this case though, since Costello wrote this song.

Actually, I see only a handful of EC’s albums available on iTunes, including nothing older than Spike (from 1989).

After renting De-Lovely a couple of weeks ago, I tried to download Elvis’s version of “Let’s Misbehave” from iTunes. No soap–you have to buy the whole soundtrack album for $9.99 to get that song. Forget it–for 3 or 4 dollars more I can get the DVD and have the whole movie.
