Surprising songs/artists that aren't on iTunes

I’m a bit surprised that some artists/songs haven’t agreed to sell their tunes on iTunes. I don’t know if it’s a monetary thing or a principle thing or a loss of control, but here’s some artists/songs that I was surprised I couldn’t get:

a)** Bob Seger ** - none of his stuff aside form a few special projects (e.g. “The Little Drummer Boy”) is available.

b)** Lady Marmalade ** (Cristina Aguilera, et al) - you have to buy the whole soundtrack if you want the song.

c) **Kid Rock ** - The only freaking song of his that I’d pay money for (“Picture” with Sheryl Crowe) isn’t available.

d) Beatles - now that the courts ruled on the whole “Apple” thing, I’m hoping to see the Fab Four on iTunes.

e) **BeeGees ** - two of their later songs (“One” and “E.S.P.”) aren’t available. Earlier stuff is. Go figure.

f) Jessi Colter’s 70’s hit “I’m Not Lisa” is only available as a live version. Or covered by Ann Christy.

On the other hand, I was thrilled to be able to download "Vangelis’s “Heaven and Hell, Part I” track for only a buck. It’s a 22 minute musical stream of consciousness, which is half of the entire album, but because it’s only one track, it’s just a buck. And some dude on iTunes educated me how to narrow down what I heard to just the six minute segment that appeared on “Cosmos”.

I’m still surprised that Tool isn’t on there.

I was a little suprised that Garth Brooks isn’t on there at all. Nothing except a tribute band. I hate pretty much all country, but I grew up listening to it, and wanted a little Garth for nostalgia’s sake.
