Much has been written about Sarah Palin’s hotness (subjective of course, though even I- completely from the other end of the spectrum- will say she’s certainly a good looking woman if you’re into that sort of gender). In a hijack of a pit thread there’s an “is she hot just by political standards or hot in general” sidecar. This has me wondering:
Who would get your vote as the sexiest politician? Said poli- can be male, female, living, dead, American or not (though royalty doesn’t count unless they were an elected official as well), and from any party. I do ask that emphasis be given to “while in politics” and not “in their prime” (if their prime was before politics- e.g. McCain was an almost unqualified hunk as a young man, but that was many years before he went into politics).
Of course standards change a bit over the years. Much was written about the handsomeness of Roscoe Conkling (a womanizer whose escapades were considered hardly surprising for a man of his looks) but by today’s standards he’s not all that.
Anyway, I’ll open with----
The late Benazir Bhutto. Though to Pakistanis she probably didn’t have the “exotic” appeal she has to Americans, I always thought she was classically gorgeous.
Not only was she wise to the ways of a man’s world, she was book-smart, ambitious as Spanish influenza, and sexy as hell - and generous with her physical favors, in a time when a married woman couldn’t get away with that shit (although like many a single gal, she took care to confine her attentions to men who could help her get ahead).
I googled sexy politician I came up with [URL=link broken nsfw]]Tania Derveaux. She offered 40,000 blowjobs if elected. Hmmm, I guess she has not actually been elected to the Belgian senate, but I’d vote for her.
When the story of Bill Clinto and Lewinsky broke in the press, my reaction was less “OMG, blow jobs and infidelity in the Oval Office” and more “ewww, why the fuck couldn’t he have been caught doing Benazir Bhutto? At least we’d respect that!”
And of course there’s former model/pinup/Playboy centerfold Alessandra Mussolini, but it’s hard to go wrong when you have Aunt Sophia Loren’s cheekbones and Grandpa Il Duce’s famous cleavage.
Canonical example: Ilona Staller, also known as hard-core porn star Cicciolina. I recommend using strict safe search if you go looking for pictures. Used to flash her tits and/or walk around topless even when she was in office. And yes, she had the body for it.
First saw/heard Queen Rania speak about economics at the G-8 summit, and have seen/heard Lady Kucinich all along the campaign trail; both are as brilliant as they are beautiful.

Had to come back and post a local favorite, hopefully our soon to be Congressional Rep across the lake, Darcy Burner. Tremendously smart and so very likable. I got to listen to her speak at our County Convention; dynamic.
I am well aware how highly inappropriate this may be, but I just want to point her natural beauty with this picture. She still looked nice(even somehow managing to find her smile during the news reports), despite awaking to her and her family’s house on fire, all while in the middle of a very tough campaign. Unfortunately the family lost their cat, as well as the house, but at least the dog and the family made it out safe(it was her son in fact that awoke to save the family). She is also still carrying on and doing great in her campaign against Bush-lackey Dave Reichart.
One more note- I love(but am mindful of the unfortunate circumstances) that she is wearing that t-shirt in that picture. I think it provide a rare bit of insight into the candidate. One, she is a former Microsoft code monkey, which explains the geekitude of it. More so to me however, the fact that she was wearing an anti-war shirt not at a rally or any sort of campaign event where it was meant to be seen, but just during a normal evening home with the family; it’s heartening to me in a way.
