As for the euthanization, it’s an extremely overcrowded animal control. From what I gather, even during the best of times, strays and lost pets are given a week before the most adoptable ones are put up for adoption, while the rest get the axe.

Sorry for the late bump/post. I got a puppy today. It was a surprise from my husband. Yes, a welcome surprise. Since I put down my dog that was 16, I’ve been existing in this odd world where I am dogless. It’s been more distressing than I thought.
Anyway, we had one of those puppies once. Someone stole him, but his name was Fat Boy. He was a grey with black spots and blue eyed cutie.
Now, I’ll be off trying to top the name Jezebel.
I realize that it’s not a cajun, nor even Louisiana name, but if your friend will consider Gambit, perhaps Batman* isn’t out of the question, either?

The Magnificent 7 idea is pretty cool, but McQueen is the closest thing to a girls’ name there… Hmmm.
