What to name a set of twin girl puppies? And yes, of course there are pictures!

Last week, we finalized the eviction process of a tenant in one of our houses*. When we showed up to do the Sheriff lock out, we found a crate in the garage with two bony, shaking puppies and no food or water in sight. After fighting with the cage for a minute, the pups were freed.

My initial reaction was to send them to the pound. . . but then I fed them and the nuzzled me with their puppy fluffy cuteness and, well, you know how it goes.

After a vet check, they got the all clear. They are 10-12 weeks old and a mix of god only knows what. They’re tiny-- slightly bigger than my hand-- but full of energy now that they are fed, watered, and safe.

I think it’d be hysterical to name them Honey and Badger, but my dad (who also found the puppies) doesn’t seem to dig it. Rude. Anyway, what are some good twin girl names?

Fwiw, they are both pretty strong willed and fearless. Their favorite activities include wanting to play with whatever toy the other one has, sleeping in a pile, and barking at their own shadows.

Le puppies.

*Before you think we’re monsters, this lady hasn’t paid rent in over 6 months. She was a section 8 tenant, but was booted of section 8 for reasons unknown. But, per her case worker, “She will never be welcomed back in the program.” So, that says to me she did something exceptionally stupid, though what, I can’t guess.

How about Coco and Chanel?

Cute pups!

Mine and Also Mine.

Good for you for keeping the babies.

Adorable!

How about the names of two close friends – like Anne and Diana (Anne of Green Gables)?

Analemma and Betty.

No, I was not allowed to name my girls.
:frowning:

Madeline and Sophie
Shirley and Phyllis
Lola and Lucy

They are so CUTE!

Looks like you got paid the rent money “in kind.”

Considering the current date, and the idea that they represent months of unpaid rent, how about “April” and "“May?”

Cute little rats, they is!

Blessings upon all who rescue.

I like Honey and Badger.

How about Lora and Moll?

I would have preferred the names of the Shobijin (Small Beauties) but I could not find any info on individual names for them.

and yes, I’m a nerd.

BTW, glad you found them in time and I’m also glad they are no longer with someone who doesn’t deserve them.

We were going to name our girls Esme and Gytha but their foster names fit them too well to change.

I’m pretty sure that for some reason, social convention calls for either 1) names starting with the same first letter, think “Bailey and Betty” ,or 2) names that rhyme, like “Willy and Billy” or 3) names that commonly go together in a set, a la “Salt and Pepper”

Using the above guidelines, I suggest “Pooper and Pisser”

You could break those rules of course, but people might think there is something wrong with you

Betty and Wilma
Ginger and Maryanne

Although I do like Honey and Badger…

LOL considering the circumstances I have to say I love the idea of April and May. They’re adorable, congratulations on the puppy love.

Laverne and Shirley
Doris and Natasha

I like Honey and Bunny better, although it may be a little too cutesy if you’re into honey badgers. =)

I’m going to agree with this. Those names just seem to fit them, too.

Got to say, I kinda like that.

Me, too. Wow, Diosa, we reached a consensus of sorts! Congrats on your new family members.

Yes, April and May are just fine!!

Don’t you have a big adorable lab-sized dog? What does he think of his new sisters?

You are thinking of Miss Mia, the lab mix. Mia has some. . .issues from her days in the pound, so it takes a little work to get her from murder to love mode to new doggy friends. This is day 2 and she’s already made what I guess is a 98% improvement. I wouldn’t quite leave them alone together yet, but she’s fine unleashed and unmuzzled with them. Her biggest thing now is that she likes to play and I’m not sure that she quite gets that these little guys are tiny and smooshable yet.

My dad also has Elvis, who happens to be the most friendly dog in the world. He loves the puppies and is excited that he has new friends that are as small as he is (he’s one of those big dogs who thinks he weighs 5 lbs).

I came in to suggest Laverne and Shirley but I see I was beaten to it, so how about Patti and Selma? Or Sherri and Terri?

Gorgeous pups, whatever you name 'em!
