Deformed puppy, rescued from trash, learns to walk
Unfortunately it is not uncommon for pit bulls to be the victims of callous and stupid people like the guy in this story who planned to throw this dog away. I believe that bad dogs are made, not born…and unfortunately many idiots who shouldn’t own dogs have pit bulls because it fits with the image of a ‘tough guy’ or ‘thug’ that they want to have.

I’m curious. Do you think the puppy was being mistreated? Because I got the impression that it was just sick and they thought they’d have to kill it. At least, nothing in the article seems to mention it even being caused by neglect.

There’s also the money issue – I meet a LOT of people who believe there’s big, tax-free income to be made from breeding pit bull puppies.

That is one happy looking puppy. A bad situation turns out good. The dog will end up with a great home and somebody is going to get a great dog.

Yes, that’s what I was referring to. Thank goodness the lady who noticed the bag was moving pushed the issue, or who knows how that poor pup might have suffered.
There have been cases around here of people abandoning puppies in the trash unfortunately.
:smack: That’s an even worse idea than the average backyard breeder. Almost every shelter is overloaded with pit bulls. On one hand you have plenty of reckless people breeding puppies, and then on the other hand many people are afraid of pit bulls so bully breeds are less likely to be adopted and the demand is lower. Too bad that the animals are the ones who suffer for people having such bad ideas.
