Pure random silliness thread?

They’re aliens! And they’re ugly! They’re ugliens!!

But they make the best axes and swords.

And deep fried in batter? Yum, yum!

Mung gai gong fong choong!*

*does that really mean anything?

yeah,

掹雞慌張匆

a sesame badger curry, with bean sprouts, cabbage and shredded carrots, served over crispy noodles and dressed with a delicate lemon sauce

Since it’s NOT an opera, why isn’t the Andrew Lloyd Webber production called “Phantom of the Musical”? (I HATE musicals)

掹雞慌張匆 Translate from Chinese
Meng chicken hurried panic

It is not “Chinese”, it is Cantonese. Very similar, but with a few variations. (A great many Chinese people in this country are from the region where they speak that dialect, so Cantonese tends to be common in Chinese restaurants.)

This is kind of silly, in a random sort of way. In India, they have started decorating their buildings with images from the Hindu pantheon, about 3’ off the ground. For devotion? No, because India is desperately short on places to deal with desperation, they figure people will be reluctant to relieve themselves upon sacred images.

The rescue Border Collie has upped her game: until last night she was content to snag a sock out of my shoe and leave it, undamaged, on the floor a few feet away. Last night, she pulled out a full set of sheets from the laundry basket on the floor, a pair of my gym shorts, BOTH socks from my shoes, and when we found her, she was chewing up an old paper with airline instructions on it. Yum, yum! What is the meaning? What is the purpose? Where will it all end?

about 20-odd years ago (and let me tell you, they were some odd years) this fräulein records a pop song, 99 Luftballoons, and it got a fair bit of airplay – so now this guy (as odd as those years were, the oddness just seems to escalate) performs the song using a bunch of red balloons
