Purim -- a drunk (but not Irish!) MMP

Yes, we are sort of nickname-happy. We could have a Guess the Doper contest within the MMP. Don’t worry if you can’t keep track. Many can’t and wind up saying something like “whoever was talking about X…”

Hmmmm…I should do something useful. But I don’t feel like it. Inspiration, anyone?

GT

The napping is wonderful. Thanks for the kitty to cuddle Rosie.

Spaz those puppies are heart-breaking!!

I love getting Amazon gift cards at coinstar, Gotti. For awhile they had a promotion that gave you a voucher for $10 for each separate $30 gift certificate that you got. I think we ended up with $30 extra dollars in addition to the $90 of coins we put changed. It was great.

Mr. T, nicknames are part of the MMP. It’s how we show that we care!

Nope, no inspiration here, GT, sorry, I can’t help you.

I’ve just returned from a trip to Urgent Care. I called my regular doctor’s office to get an appointment because my edema has not gone down. As I was explaining my symptoms to the appt person, he told me he was switching to the consulting nurse.

After a long conversation with her, where I explained the suddeness of it, my diet, my fluid intake and output, etc, etc., she told me to go down to urgent care.

So, I hied myself down to urgent care where both the triage nurse and the doc were in awe of my swollen feet, legs and hands. The doc then sent me off to the lab for pee and blood tests. During her examination, she also noted a nodule on my thyroid, so one of those tests was to check out my thyroid. So, the pee tests and tests for kidney problems came out fine. However, the thyroid test didn’t come back, so tomorrow I have to call my regular physician for follow-up about my thyroid.

So, no water pills, and since the doc doesn’t know what’s causing my problem, her suggestions to me are to keep my feet elevated when possible and to wear support hose. Greeaaaat…

As I was reading my follow-up notes, I noticed that my blood pressure read 137/74. This is high for me, I’m usually in the 110/60 something to 70 range. Could be I was stressed…I dunno.

I feel like an elephant lady now… :frowning:

I merely got to skim the previous pages again since I now have to prepare dinner and all that jazz. Hugs and smooches to all.

**Mr. T, ** while I don’t mind facial hair on men, my husband has it, I thought you were more attractive without the beard.

I emailed my doctor this afternoon about my insomnia and she sent in a prescription for me. By the time I got to the pharmacy after work, my name was already on the board. Even better, my copay was only $5. Cheap drugs (that work) are the best.

My cats often join me in the bathroom. They like to play in the bathtub, behind the shower curtain. It’s just not any fun if the curtain is open.

{{{Taters}}} Glad that you finally made it to see some kind of doctor. Sending good vibes towards your test results tomorrow.

GT, you know, even though you can’t go to Florida, it’s possible that we could have our own mini-MMPfest in a couple months. TVMan and I will be in Hilliard (?) at the Antique Television convention in May. Of course, that means I’d have to let him in on the Dope and all.

Ok. I am definitely supposed to be working right now.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m going with Secret Agent because I keep misreading the first part of your username.

You will very likely end up with several nicknames. I have not settled on one for you yet, but it will probably be AT. Others will find something else, I’m sure. If you really don’t like one just tell us. Thats why I’m not called Wally. Walls is fine as is flowers, but not that.

I get out before close, and miss a grope nap, and leopard print Mumpette destruction. :frowning: I gotta win the lottery, so I can Mump all day.

Get better you sickies! {{{{{{MMP}}}}}

Maggie and Lucretia used to watch. At least they didn’t point and giggle.

I’ve met Lurky and Puck, but not the rest of you people.

Ok, so my manager called.

Annoying Ethnic Coworker is going to the hospital (not ours) as a pt. I hope she is better soon (see, I’m nice, dammit!). I made a deal with manager: I’ll come in to work from 0600-0900 tomorrow (to cover the incoming pre-ops) and cover AEC’s shift on Thursday (which works out better re child care for me on that day, since the elementary school is out and the HS is not), but this means I must get up at 0500 and then 0430 the next 2 days. I was truly looking forward to a sleep in tomorrow… BUT. We need the money and it’s only 3 hours and I can nap tomorrow afternoon. I also think I’ll take a day for ME on Saturday and not do jack–as in a stay in my jammies all day kind of day.
So, I won’t be around much.
Argent Towers–if you have been given a nickname, that means we have accepted you as one of the tribe. You are officially a Cool Kid now. Use it wisely. Myself, I want to call you Agincourt Towers, but I’m a bit strange.

As nicknames go, Mr. T is hard to top, so I dig it.

I wanted to call you Whitey… but what do I know…

(Ivory, 99 44/100, Soapy, Prof Rapunzel). Apparently I have accumulated nicknames…

ETA: No WAY! First on Six…

Ah PITY the fool who’s called Mr T! <clanks gold ropes and chains together; adjusts mohawk>

Welcome to the MMP,

Rigs (blonde soccer mom)

Oh, my gosh, Taters, that sounds kind of scary. Hope they figure it all out quickly.

Now I’m actually really really sleepy. So I’ma crawl into bed.

Nitey-night.

GT

ETA: **rigs, **that made me giggle. You’re really good at channeling Mr. T. (not you, Mr. T, the other one…)

Yup, I’m sitting here waiting for the gang of angry hot chicks to tar and feather me…

Cuervo has officially forgiven me for leaving him alone for nine days. The first day or so after we got back, he was making it clear to me he did not approve. Now he’s back to normal self, following me around like a puppy.

I’m soooo tired, I’m going to watch the rest of this bassetball game, then hit the hay.

Or foam, actually.

bassetball!?! Why do you hate hounds?

Heh.

Taters, that does sound scary. Keep us updated; I hope they fix everything ASAP.

I need to get up and take a shower, but Olive slumbers on my lap.

It was a gloomy and semi productive day. I managed to get over to the other house, and an hour later my cousin called me to pick up her son from the bus because no one else could make it. So I only managed to mop the bathroom and the kitchen twice, (yes, twice, I imagine it’s been three or more years since they mopped, and don’t get me started on the hardwood floors!)
I did other errands and regular stuff around this house. Oh, and on the way back, I nearly got run off the road by a semi who wanted by me very badly. I was going 55, the posted speed limit on US 12, and the roads were wet, and visibility wasn’t all that great with the heavy drizzle. So the first time he tried to pass, I nearly braked for him, but it was a good thing I didn’t, a car popped over the hill, and he nearly took my rear end off getting back over into our lane. When he did manage to pass, I memorized his company and truck number. He recklessly passed another car not far in front of me as well. I’m going to report it, I can’t imagine what would have happened had he hit my truck…

So in light of the gloomy day, I was thinking summer thoughts.
You know those garden lights with the flowers on them? Well, I made a strand of 100 tonight. My thumb is sore from yanking out light after light, but hereand here are my results. What do you think? Way better than the money spent on the store brand, easy to make, and cheap to boot! Can’t beat it!
Now I’ll just have to dream some more about them hanging from my deck at the new house this summer…sigh…soon.

Morning. I have to go to work today - pbbtthhhhhhh! Fortunately, tomorrow is a public holiday (Prophet’s Birthday), so one day in the office for the week isn’t bad! Still, I have a feeling my boss is gonna pull some “urgent” crap on me and expect me to work through the weekend - Bwaap-bwahhh! WRONG! With only three weeks to go, I will be responding with a resounding [del]fuck you[/del] NO!

Okay, I better run! Ciao folks!

Wow. I take a lengthy nap, then wake up and can’t get back to sleep so I figure I might as well do a bit of work (since sitting upright isn’t that physically tiring), and what do I find? Two more pages of MMP! Damn, us guys talk a lot!

And yes, it’s useful communicating with snowbunny through the MMP when she’s at work – I feel weird calling her cell phone, and she doesn’t read her personal mail at work, so this is the best way to get a message to her! Works great!

It’s about time you got yourself to the doctor, Taters! Please do follow up on everything; we care because we’re nice, dammit!

Time to try to sleep again, I guess.

Dammit, they’ve had to bring on a new moderator for this forum, the leesh is tightening. Must be more discreet.

You didn’t see me.
