I’ve just returned from a trip to Urgent Care. I called my regular doctor’s office to get an appointment because my edema has not gone down. As I was explaining my symptoms to the appt person, he told me he was switching to the consulting nurse.
After a long conversation with her, where I explained the suddeness of it, my diet, my fluid intake and output, etc, etc., she told me to go down to urgent care.
So, I hied myself down to urgent care where both the triage nurse and the doc were in awe of my swollen feet, legs and hands. The doc then sent me off to the lab for pee and blood tests. During her examination, she also noted a nodule on my thyroid, so one of those tests was to check out my thyroid. So, the pee tests and tests for kidney problems came out fine. However, the thyroid test didn’t come back, so tomorrow I have to call my regular physician for follow-up about my thyroid.
So, no water pills, and since the doc doesn’t know what’s causing my problem, her suggestions to me are to keep my feet elevated when possible and to wear support hose. Greeaaaat…
As I was reading my follow-up notes, I noticed that my blood pressure read 137/74. This is high for me, I’m usually in the 110/60 something to 70 range. Could be I was stressed…I dunno.
I feel like an elephant lady now…
I merely got to skim the previous pages again since I now have to prepare dinner and all that jazz. Hugs and smooches to all.
**Mr. T, ** while I don’t mind facial hair on men, my husband has it, I thought you were more attractive without the beard.
