Purim -- a drunk (but not Irish!) MMP

Sounds like quite a night there Secret Argent Man. I now have that song stuck in my haid.

Yards are done, casseroles are all made and ready to bake tomorrow. So’s the ham. Well, I didn’t make it, a pig and a butcher did that part, but it’s ready to be baked tomorrow also. Matter of fact, pretty much everything can be made tomorrow. Oh, the ‘nanner puddin’ is made too. I’ve been a productive bear! Now it’s time to chill. We’re all showered and will reward ourselves with some nicely chilled beerverages that I thoughtfully iced down in a cooler on the back porch before we left for ol’ y’all know who’s house to mow his yard.

snowbunny I can get Community House coffee in the grocery store here. I like that and Luzianne. Those are my idea of what coffee is supposed to be.

I have managed to shower and get dressed, but that’s about it.

Really, I could lie down and take a nap, but that’s not in the cards for me today.

I’m feeling just slightly peckish, but I’ve already eaten a cheesestick, so I guess I’ll just deal with it. Besides, we’re going out for dinner tonight and that’s blowing my low calorie intake big time. I still plan to eat as correctly as I can, but still, it’s not the same as eating the recipes out of my Weight Watchers and low-fat cookbooks.

I washed the cat today as well. When one furry pet gets a bath, they both do.

This is a continuation of “Spaz Has Writer’s Block and Doesn’t Want to Rewrite Her Comps Paper.” Writer’s block will be forcibly evicted on Monday. Spaz has to get her comps paper to her thesis director before she is slapped with a wet trout.

Until then, Mario Kart Double Dash!

I am exhausted! Today was supposed to be rainy, so I expected to be lazy. It is to laff… We went out for breakfast, then ran to WalMart for a few things. When we got home, **FCD ** was going to repack the bearings on the trailer, so I decided, before the rain came, I’d suck up some of the leaves in the front garden. Which led to **FCD ** yanking up a few bushes that I hated and wanted gone. And that led to me sucking up all the leaves I could manage in the front yard.

When I cleaned out the garden outside the guest bedrooms, I got to thinking that I should put in some pavers for access to the hose faucet. And I remembered that there were some pavers out back where the old shed used to be, so I yonked them up (24 of 'em) hauled them around front (in the wagon, not by hand) and evened the ground as much as I could, put down landscaping cloth, then put down the pavers. I’ve got a 24" wide swath between the porch and the faucet. Go me!

I put all my tools away, helped **FCD ** put his stuff away, then we parked all the cars back where they belonged, and we’re done. He just showered, and as soon as I feed the critters, I’m next. Whew!

And still no rain in sight… Lyin’ weatherdudes!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s funny - someone actually sang that song last night. He did a pretty good job of it too.

Yeah, no rain here, either, Mooom. Not that my headache cares; apparently it decided it’s gonna react like there’s rain, whether there is or not.

Community House coffee, Swampy? Or just plain Community? Because if it has “House” on it, it ain’t genyoowine Community Coffee. Of which Papa Tigs and I prefer the New Orleans Blend. We just reordered; we currently have (counts 'em) 24 lbs sitting atop the kitchen cabinets. (Yes, we order 20 lbs at a time, why do you ask?) All genyoowine Community Coffee comes in a red vacuum-packed bag. A full pound, needless to say, none of this 13 oz. crapola.

The only time I ever sang karaoke, I was totally sober. Apparently I did okay, although it’s not an experience I plan to repeat any time soon. Since it’s something I try to avoid whenever possible. Listening to people singing off-key is like nails on a chalkboard. Especially sans alcohol, which is my life these days. Sigh.

Unfortunately, even Community Coffee New Orleans Blend hasn’t persuaded my headache to go away. :frowning: And I tried to work a bit, I really did, since a rush job arrived this morning that’s due Tuesday; alas, it just makes the ol’ head throb even harder. Stoopid head.

So I went out and bought myself a new keyboard. Which I’ve been needing desperately for some time now. Stoopid CompUSA had to go bankrupt a while back; their house brand ergonomic keyboard was only like $20 and had the lightest touch of any keyboard I’ve ever used, and at the speed I type, that matters. So I ended up with a Microsoft keyboard. Which I’m still not entirely sure about. They’ve lightened up the touch a lot from their early ergonomic keyboard days (those first generation ones practically had to be pounded with a hammer to make the keys react), but they’ve got all these weird add-ons that I’m still undecided about. So we shall see.

Off to eat an early dinner. Here’s hoping my stoopid head likes it, and my stoopid tummy decides it’s okay, too!

Inicidentally, why do English speakers pronounce karaoke “kar-ee-o-kee”? It’s always confused me,

it probably goes back to the late 1980s when some midwestern business man discovered while on a working vacation in Tokyo. He repeated what he heard, but with his accent, it came out “ka**’-ree-oh’**-kee” … and that’s what he told his friends when he got home, and they told two friends and they told two friends and so on and so on …

I just wanted to say hi.
Hi.

Back atcha Beebs!

Don’t forget the girl on girl action!!!

Well, I’ve been totally lazy today. I just got up from my second nap and I still have no energy. At least it seems like some of the snow is starting to melt. That’s good because otherwise I’d have to borrow that wet trout and use it on TVMan until he cleared the driveway.

I think I’m going to watch Pirates of the Caribbean I if I can muster up the energy to get off the couch.
ETA: Hi beebs! ::blows kisses::

Let’s take a nap. Just snuggle under a blankey.

I giggled over the “blanket” misspelling but decided to keep it. Y is next to T, but humor is in short supply.
Your blah blah blah,
beebs

I have the oddest craving for a soft boiled egg. I can literally taste it in my mouth.

What is up with that?

Although I had until the end of April to re-up my Dope subscription, I went ahead and paid for another year today.

Right here? Out in the open???

Well, if you’re going to nap in the open, you better get a nap mat. The floor can be a little uncomfortable.

Oh, and I want a pre-nap snack too, just like kindergarten.

I have a bed & a futon.

Just an FYI for the ladies here.

Eh, eh?

Yeah, but what about snacks?

Pie, I don’t think your crush on **beebs ** is so secret anymore.

Beebs, I giggled at your “blankey” comment.

I’ve actually been productive today. I haven’t even napped, which I usually do on Saturday’s.

Went grocery shopping, returned about $75 worth of remodeling stuff that we don’t need. Stopped at Target to finish grocery shopping, got $60 worth of stuff for $40. And the cashier was so nice with dealing with my coupons and he was impressed with how much I saved.

While at Menards I picked up some seeds and stuff for a veggie garden. I have decided that I’m going to attempt a small garden this year. This could actually be interesting, because I tend to kill more than I can grow. Though in my defense I have never really tried to do much on my own. I’m looking forward to it. Best part was that all of the seeds were 65% off! Can’t beat that price.

I guess you all are finding out that I’m a bit of a geek here. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ll make a note of that.

That’s ok… It’s about time I admitted the truth regarding my feelings about beebs

Hmmm, do you think beebs went out to get some snacks?

Wow, I can’t believe it’s nearly 3:00 pm and I haven’t gotten a damn thing accomplished.

I’m going to have to head upstairs to flat iron my hair and put a little make-up on.

I hope dinner is good tonight because I"m hungry. I still plan on being a good girl with regards to what I order and portion control, but damn, if I’m paying to go out, it better be good.
