Pushing Daisies 11/21

Oh, one other thing we did learn - Chuck’s mom is dead - they didn’t say when and/or how, but the sweater was hers and then Chuck’s… and apparently Lily is still none too happy about that.

We watched it again this morning. My wife had missed it last night. I had to pause a few times and explain the show and the background to my MIL who was now watching it with us.

Jim

I kept thinking that “Morning Has Broken” was morphing into “Suddenly Seymour”.

Anecdote from real life brought to you by last night’s episode:

3 years, 4 months, and 17 days after they got married, my sister-in-law decided that my brother ought to fix her pancakes every Saturday morning. So little brother started doing so. Then she had a baby.

One Saturday morning, shortly after baby was born, a couple of friends stopped by during pancake breakfast time to meet the baby 2 weeks, 3 days, and 13 hours later, friend gave sister-in-law a buttermilk pancake scented jar candle as an apology for interrupting this Saturday morning ritual.

5 weeks 3 days and 17 hours later, my parents and I are standing around the kitchen, watching my brother prepare the pancake batter, when we notice the flavor of the candle then burning. Hmm, is there something wrong with the pancakes, that one need burn a candle scented as the pancakes are supposed to be scented, to cover it up?

LIttle brother didn’t think it was funny.

Little brother’s not the only one.

Does anyone know a site that has the full episodes online? The ABC link only works if you are in the US.

Ludy, if you’re in Canada, CTV.ca has full-length episodes. However, they only show the current episode, plus two or three previous episodes. Once the newest show is up, the oldest one disappears.

LOL. Get out of my head! That was my very first reaction too!

Well, the ABC site doesn’t have all the episodes up, either. ABC only gives you the four most recent episodes for any show.

The woman is less than 5 feet tall. She’s a hobbit. [JS]Not that there’s anything wrong with that[/JS]

[Nitpick for the sake of nitpicking] You know technically, Hobbits never got that tall, not even Merry and Pippin who were the tallest. [/NftsoN]
The lady that was on Boston Legal for a while was definitely Hobbit size, but Kristin Chenoweth lists at 4’11".

What’s with all the miniature blondes on tv these days?

Watched it again with family and confirmed - yes, it is more fun watched with company.
Noticed on repeat view - on the table in the pop-up store - a toaster!
Fave line, Chi in response to Chuck asking “How did you clean up so fast?”, "I took exactly the amount of time needed to clean up. You just slow!"

We’re finally taking over! Mwa-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha cough ha-ha-ha-ha!

I want a cup pie.

The facts are these: Mehitabel is terrible at procedurals but even she got the identity of the real criminal by about 8:25.

Thatsa lotta boobage, Kristin. And I saw her live as Passionella in THE APPLE TREE. In the 2007 Broadway version the dress was even strapless.

Luuuuuv both the aunts, but since my first exposure to Ellen Greene was in the 1976 THREEPENNY OPERA with Raul Julia, I keep on expecting her to break into the Pollyslied.

Caught it online last night. Good episode overall with plenty of nice touches, as usual.

A nitpick that was bugging me all episode - wouldn’t a cup pie be a tart?

Well, they were made in cupcake pans. And she probably wanted to fit the word “pie” into the name to gain Ned’s approval.

Nope. A tart is usually more shallow than a pie and has no pastry on top.

The show is still winning its time slot, but sadly the ratings have slipped most weeks.

There are only two more episodes in the can, so the season could prove very abrupt if the writers strike does not end soon.
