EVERY time I charge, I get the same question…

I’m thinking of posting questions and starting them with SD! and making them all things cecil has answered.

Well, in an effort to waste even MORE time than I already do, I signed up as well. I’m on Pyroto as Falc. (Falcon was already taken) I think I’m on level 10 or something.

Pyroto, Inc. asked the Straight Dope system to hold off on them for a little while, in order to give some SD’ers (Bricker is a good example) time to settle in. That way, when people on this system ask questions about Pyroto, there will already be some SD’ers who are able to provide informed commentary.

We were a bit concerned about several negative posts which seemed to attract even more negativity. Those wizards who have gotten past the very difficult first few levels know that the game makes a lot more sense later on.

In other words, the banners were TOO successful: we got a lot of people arriving who (for example) saw only a trivia game, and posted depressing statements to the effect that Pyroto was nothing else but that. This, of course, misses the entire point.

For me to say more than that would just be propaganda from a sub-contractor of Pyroto, Inc., so I’ll leave it at that.

Are you educated, erudite and maybe a bit eccentric?

I know I primarily lurk here rather than post, but I notice some other newbies are making requests to join the ecircle thingie as well, and I’d still love to join if I may…I’m in the late thirties as a wizard on Pyroto and joined via the Straight Dope. I wouldn’t be interested so much in the trivia answers as I would be glad of the company and ‘clan’ information. I’m at vivamus_et_amamus@hotmail.com

I really like Pyroto. I have solved the problem of what to post on the message boards by posting in character. My character is blutwylite (what a surprise!). I have invented a background and life story for this character, and make other stuff up along the way.
Does anyone know if I can change my password to something I’ll remember, or do I have to keep using the one they assigned me?
I’d like to be on the mailing list :slight_smile:

People in the land of Pyroto:

Listen – I have what I’ve begun to call a “Basic Message”. Here it is:

  1. It is much more important to build esteem than to advance in level. Trust me on this. Stop advancing in levels, and work on posting messages. Get to the point where your Esteem is 130+your current level. Then you may advance again, but since advancing costs Esteem, you must work on keeping your Esteem up as you advance. This strategy will pay great rewards.

  2. I strongly urge everyone to save up manna and migrate to Restlech. With all due respect to the idea of having people on all the mountains, I believe our efforts will bear more fruit, and our mutual assistance be more effective, if we are all on the same mountain. I visited each mountain and surveyed them carefully before selecting Restlech, because the existing wizard power base on Restlech was most open to encouraing all groups to advance.
