Why is it that I’ve been completely unable to find an image of what the adult Jaycee Dugard looks like? I get that she’s a crime victim and all, but surely some paparazzo or news cameraman or someone caught a glimpse of her. And FTR, I’ve already seen plenty of FBI-generated age-enhanced images.

What, exactly, did the accused Bahamians allegedly do to attempt to extort John Travolta? All I’ve heard is that they threatened to “release a document about Jett’s death” unless he gave them $25 million. But what possible document could it be? Not even someone of Travolta’s caliber has the pull to suppress a death certificate. What else could there be?

- A signed form that they were denying emergency medical help for their son. This shows/proves that they are crazy scientologists, which they are.
For number 1 she was taken away before the media really got wind of the case so I don’t think it’s strange there have been no pictures of her.
The media did get some pictures of her kids from a local person but they showed them with the faces blurred out. I would guess she eventually will talk to the media in a very controlled setting - Oprah has said she really wants to interview her.
Why do you want to see an adult Jaycee Dugard? It’s not like she voluntarily became a public figure. I know you acknowledged this problem, but in this odd instance, the opprobrium networks/news media would get from publishing pictures does outweigh any viewers they would draw. Heartwarming, really.
You can bet the tabloids are staking out that area for a picture of Jaycee. If they had one you would have seen it by now. They will pretty much publish anything including shots of dead bodies.
It took a while but eventually someone down in Argentina got some new pictures of Mark Sanford’s mistress. I think it took almost a month for that.
Perhaps I should have clarified: they don’t count as media because you can avoid them. I’m talking about places you’d want to go to for actual news without accidentally pictures of victims who don’t want publicity and don’t deserve to be stalked by the media.
From an AP story on the case, “The document in question was a routine waiver clearing paramedics of liability if the Travoltas did not allow Jett to be transported to the hospital. However, not only was he taken in the ambulance, Travolta and his wife, actress Kelly Preston, rode with him, so the waiver was never valid in this case.”
Jaycee is a victim in a rape case. A child rape case, even though she is now an adult, and there’s some question as to whether her two daughters were used as well. Thank God the media has not splashed their photos across the world. We all owe it to these girls and to Jaycee to give themt he best possible opportunity to have a normal life evntually.
Here she is. She looks surprisingly good. I was afraid she’d look all beat-up and worn out, like meth addict or something.
Well, she looks pretty by any normal standard. She’s been through hell and back, and can still smile, at least in a photograph. I wish her the best of luck on the road to recovery. She can take all the time she needs.
