So if you could only have the services of one of the “Fabulous Five” from QUEER EYE FOR THE STRAIGHT GUY for one day, which would it be? Would you rather re-do your look, your living room, your wardrobe, your cooking abilities, or your “whatever the hell the Culture guy does” if you could only have one?
Assume that a day with Kyan will not include nudity.
Personally I’d go with Carson- my wardrobe is way too “let’s go to the clearance aisle and get out of here”.
I’m pretty happy with all aspects except for my cooking. It’s not bad, it’s just very routine and 80% of the time involves the grill and large chunks of meat. The cooking guy seems pretty cool and a day with him to expand my repetoire would be most appreciated.
I refuse to accept your assumption. Adam got naked with Kyan in the second episode. Kyan spreading mud all over my naked body, Kyan demonstrating how to shave, Kyan zhuzhing my hair…
I need a moment.
Anyway, fantasies of my sweet sweet Kyan aside, I would take Thom because my apartment needs some help.
. . . When they showed Kyan with a towel draped around his unclad shoulders last night, I thought, “I’ll bet at least half a dozen Dopers just lost consciousness.”
zhuzh, darling, you’re spoiling the moment.
BTW, Sampiro, would I actually have to become queer for a day to obtain these services you speak of? I mean, sure, becoming a better dresser or a better cook might be beneficial, but if I have to have sex with a man to gain these skills … ?
Cooking - Feh, I’m OK. I could just work harder at it. And being single, I tend to slack off. I gotta get more dates to impress by cooking.
Wardrobe - No thanks. I do OK and have my own style (dress casual). I’m sure I could use a little help, but nothing major.
Culture - Thanks, got it.
Interior decorating - Nope. I’m pretty minimalist and what I’ve done works.
Looks - Bingo! Thanks to the thread about not being single forever, I’m working more on it. (exercising, losing weight). But I’d love to have some feedback/suggestions. In the last five years I’ve varied from shoulder length hair with a goatee to now a mustache and hair about an inch long.
And now I think I’m going to shave the mustache off (2nd time in 25 years). I was doing sit ups across from a mirror today and went through the following thoughts:
(sit up + mirror)
Wow, my mustache has really bleached out from the sun.
(sit up + mirror)
Well, I have been noticing more white hairs in it.
(sit up + mirror)
But it sure is a lot lighter than my hair color.
(sit up + mirror)
Holy crap, it looks white! It makes me look older than 41! I look like an old guy!
(end sit ups)
So yeah, looks. I’d like to get an opinion on what I look like without a mustache from someone who hasn’t known me forever.
