Quest for 1998 Techno Band Popular on Penn State Radio (hopeless???)

In fall of 1998 I was working at a place in State College where they always had Penn State’s student station on. And it played this wonderful techno music that I’ve always wanted to find but can’t identify. This particular song was played frequently, so it must have been well known at the time (just not known by me).

There were no lyrics, all I recall is very fast drumming that somehow wasn’t monotonous.

I’ve already checked out Chemical Brothers, Meat Beat Manifesto and the Plastic compilations - none of them. And it’s not Propellerheads.

Can anybody suggest bands I should investigate?

all i can say is this suggests it was drum’n’bass?
check out Photek, Roni Size, LTJ Bukem and Goldie
it also brought to mind the Autechre ANTI E.P. which was made up of Non Repetitive beats. (a protest about government legislation that used that term to catogorise a ‘rave’)
