Question about abdominal pain

Okay, last week (the week before easter), something happened to my back. I don’t know what, but I’m pretty sure that it was a pulled muscle (I wasn’t out of alignment, and the back pain has gone away. Plus I’d never had pain there before). However, I also had cramps that started in the front, in my abdomen, which were the worst. They made me gasp and almost double over.

The back pain has completely gone away. The stomach cramps have not. There are a lot fewer, but they still hurt like a–lot.
As much as they did before.

My mom is freaking out, and thinks something is majorly wrong. I’m telling her that there’s nothing wrong, that I’m sure it’ll go away. . .but I’m not entirely sure.

Is this normal after a back injury? The pain is definately NOT originating in my back, but my knowledge of the human body could pretty much fit into a thimble, plus I haven’t had any sort of experience with back injuries before. And should I go to the doctor. Going to the doctor would be a big deal here, because our campus clinic basically sucks (they’d think I’m pregnant–divine intervention, anyone?), and I’d have to either catch a cab to go to my local doctor, or go home and visit our family’s GP. So I guess I’m just testing the waters.

Thanks in advance.

I, too, am generally reluctant to go to the doctor, and I have had a couple of terrible experiences with campus health clinics. In this case, however - GO TO THE DOCTOR NOW! There probably isn’t a big problem, but the combination of a physical injury and abdominal pain could mean something gravely serious. Whatever it takes, see the doctor. Please post to let us know you’re OK. Best wishes.

You could have an ovarian cyst that burst - not life-threatening, but incredibly painful and pretty common, apparently. I don’t know how the back pain fits in, but I agree - get to a doctor and have it looked at. Abdominal pain is not something to fool with.
