Why are some people “Banned”, and others “BANNED”? Some people who get banned have “Banned” in title case in their titles, and others have it in all caps. Why is this? Does it have something to do with when they were banned, or the severity of what they did?
IIRC, the mods/admins can put whatever they want for the member status under a user name. (Once it was “Just another Serlin.”) Sometimes they don’t even change it from “Member” when someone is banned. I suppose the caps/lc thing is just different mods/admins typing it differently. (But has there been a change recently? I haven’t seen “BANNED” lately, but I have seen a lot of “Banned.”)
No reflection on your very good question, airdisc, but this Q reminds of the person who wrote in to ask why AIDS is always capped: “You never read that someone died of CANCER.”
Wrote in to Ann Landers, that is. :smack:
We prefer that questions about bannings be addressed via e-mail.
