BANNED vs Banned?

For the most part, in the status bit under a member’s name, once a member is banned it says “BANNED”, but every now and then I see “Banned”… what’s the deal? are there degrees of bannedness?

If it’s anything like EZBoard, the status is typed in by hand - so it’s down to the moderator’s typing style.

I don’t think that’s it. I’ll bet anything that a string like “banned” is already set into the vB system. Perhaps the “Banned” string is from the old software, and “BANNED” is from the newer software.

Well, IIRC, there was also someone who was banned who had “Too stupid to live” put under their name. So I’m guessing it is typed in by hand, and that jjim is right on this one.

Yes, sometimes it’s typed by hand. So there.

Sometimes, my quill pen spatters and it comes out “BAMNED”

I can see “Too stupid to live” being typed in by hand, since it was used once only. But “Banned”? Why wouldn’t it be saved? You would think vB had thought of that.

Emirl is now a mod!
