Question about britcom The Mighty Boosh

Here in the US Cartoon Network has run pretty much the whole series a few times. I’ve watched most episodes several times and I just noticed that the characters always talk about & use **Euros **as money. I though the UK didn’t join the Eurozone money, ah, thingy, and still used Pounds? I realize it’s a kind of a fantasy-comedy, but they do seem to mention what I assume are real British locations so isn’t it supposed to be set there?

The only character I remember referring to Euros is the Hitcher.

Anyway, the UK didn’t adopt the Euro, and the Boosh referring to Euros is just part of the funny.

It is just a nod to the fact that their universe is similar to, though not the same as, our own.

That and the talking gorilla, drinking Baileys from a shoe, Tony Harrison the tentacled head, the “funk” personified as a milky ball of teats and death as a taxi driver.

All subtle indications that things are not quite as they seem.

I’ve got the box set and the CD’s of the original radio show! I actually think The Mighty Boosh is as good/better than Monty Python.

They mention Euros in a couple episodes, as I recall.

Ooh! I’ve finally got a new textbook example of “fightin’ words.”

Let’s settle this with a Crimp-Off!
