Ok, this may sound stupid. You may even wonder why the hell I’m asking this. I am wondering why I am asking this. I’m am trying to find out if this is real or if my SO is delusional/supremely misinformed  Googling turns up less than helpful results and I am unsure as to where I would find information pertaining to this particular Q:
“Does Evian’s water filtration process really involve the use of some kind of animal blood?”
I don’t believe that its true. I think it sounds like total hooey, but he insists that its true. I am trying to find solid info or at least enough intelligent, informed naysayers to bring him around.
The first place I go when I hear something that sounds like an Urban Legend is Snopes, and according to them, it’s not true.
Apparently, it has something to do with some congressmen proposing economic sanctions against France. One of these involved bottled water, and another called for large orange labels to be affixed to certain French wines which use substances like dried oxblood for filtering. The two got mixed up in people’s minds and now there is a rumor about Evian being filtered with cow’s blood.
I’ve driven through Evian many times. There is a spigot with the stuff trickling out. You can bring your own bottles and bottle your own for free. No dead cows required.
