I just watched this movie on Sci-Fi and I have a couple of questions…
Was Jet Jaguar A knockoff of Ultraman or just the opposite?
Was Ultraman a knockoff of Jet Jaguar?
And…
Jet Jaguar seemed to stand out in this movie. Were there ever any plans to make a series of movies featuring him?
Jet Jaguar was a knockoff of the then-current Ultraman trend in Japanese TV shows. Giant robot fights monsters. Godzilla even showed up in a few episodes of one Japanese TV show (Zone fighter, IIRC). And modifies Godzilla costumes showed up in other ones. Toho cashed in, and made Jet Jaguar, who can program himself to grow. Unfortunately there have been no more Jet Jaguar appearances, because i haven’t directed a Godzilla film yet. (but one day…)
