Hi, this is my first post (so be nice to me, please) , and I’m going to apologize in advance if it’s been asked before (I tried seaching to see if it was, but I couldn’t find anything.), anyway here’s my question…I’ve noticed that in the movie Grease during the scene at the soda shop, there is a poster on the wall, I know it’s an ad for Coke but it has been “blurred”, does anyone know the reason why it’s like this? Thanks!
Thanks for asking, megsmom. I’ve always wondered about that but never remembered to ask. I didn’t even know that it was a Coke ad. That leads me to believe that they didn’t have permission to use the copyrighted Coke image for some reason or another. Hopefully someone will come in to answer for us.
Welcome! I’m honored to be the first to respond to our newest poster!
I’d noticed before but it’s been so long since I’ve watched Grease. I found this article that looks to explain it better than I ever could, but in a nutshell, it appears the Coke folk thought that Grease was too raunchy to taint their name with.
Say Hi to Meg for me!
Ahem…I of course meant to say that I’m honored to be the second to respond to you.
The car flys away at the end of the movie and you’re concerned with a poster?
