I want google to find me a pair of pants with specific waist and inseam measurements and return exactly zero results that do not fulfill that request. How do I choose search terms to make that happen?
I’m not that picky, though. I’ll happily accept directions to any search engine that will do this for me.
I know that this isn’t exactly what you asked, but Lands End sells men’s pants and jeans hemmed-to-order. Just choose a waist size and then pick an inseam. Example.
I’d think this would be pretty difficult, because that information mostly isn’t out there.
Most clothing sellers just list the range of standard sizes available, something like: “Available in waist 30-46 inches”. So if your search wanted only 40" waist size, that listing wouldn’t come back – even though they clearly do sell 40" sizes. You’d be better off searching for the style of pants you wanted, and then check their available sizes.
P.S. Most mass-produced clothes come in only a standard set of sizes.
If you want something unusual, you might have to buy a standard size and then have it altered. That’s easy; within a few blocks of my house there is a dry cleaner, a formal wear store, and a seamstress that all offer alterations on clothes for very reasonable prices.
Honestly though I think you are better off going to a place that sells pants (like Amazon or Lands End as an example) and they will almost certainly have search tools built in to narrow in on the size you want.
Rather than the general search, click “shopping”. “Shopping” general gives you a bunch of relevent things to filter by depending on the type of thing you’re shopping for, such as “size” and “inseam” if you are searching for “pants”. I generally use Google Shopping as a starting point when I’m shopping for something online.
