Question for CSN&Y Fans

About the song “Carry On”: On the Deja Vu album, this is the title; however, on the Greatest Hits (issued 2005), the title is shown as “Carry On / Questions”. The length of time apparently is the same, per Wikipedia. Online lyrics look like the same song. I recognize this song has two movements. Perhaps the newer title is now trying to cover both?

Maybe a fan can answer if these are one and the same song, and why the change in song title? Thanks.

The second movement of the song is a remake of the song “Questions” that was on Last Time Around, the Buffalo Springfield’s last album.

Apparantly, CSNY was stuck in the middle of recording the album and needed a track in a hurry. Stills had half of a song and combined it with a piece he wasn’t happy with earlier to make the whole. The result has always been the one song known from Deja Vu.

The first paragraph is correct. However, Deja Vu, also with 2 “movements,” was written by David Crosby.

The song “Carry On” was on the album called Deja Vu.

That the album also had a song named “Deja Vu” is irrelevant.
