Question for owners of Sound Blaster Live! soundcards.

You know the advanced settings in the mixer for bass redirection and ac3 decode? well how the hell am I supposed to know which means ‘on’ - yellow? or white?
(the ‘button’ toggles between yellow, and white when pressed)

I looked at the rest of the mixer - sometimes yellow means ‘on’ (as opposed to grey - off) and sometimes white means on (as opposed to grey being off, again.

Which idiot designed this thing? and which idiot released it?

Depends on the version of Creative Mixer you have. If it’s black, that means it’s the old version… new software is available for download from SBLive.com (and, in my opinion, the download is worth it, even if it is quite large). The new version of Creative Mixer is colored blue, and in the menu you mentioned, the Bass Redirection and AC3 Decode have a little check mark placed next to them when they’re off, and a blank white box when they’re on.

spoofe the version I have is very graphics-orientated (uses none of the windows-standard controls. And yes - the background is black) do you mean to say that a newer version reverts back to using windows controls (such as the check-box you mention)?

If it helps : I bought the sound card quite recently (it probably doesn’t help - as, for all I know, it’s probably been sat in the shop for like 2 years)

I appreciate Spoof’s reply. But I would still like the original question answered - which means on - white or yellow?

thankyou

WAG: Yellow.
